From the Observer...
5-10 years? They could just hire any of us, and we'd promote Mickie and Melina as very big deals to outsiders.

Yeah, but the real challenge would be making people care about Lena Yada, Eve Torres, and the rest of the "anonymous" Divas. Even for an audience raised on bra-and-panties matches etc etc. I don't think that's possible

For all people that say Divas are useless, don't get how much money they make WWE. From magazines, to calenders, to DVDs the Divas bring A LOT of money to WWE because fans want to see them all oiled up and sexy. As opposed to regularly seeing WWE wrestlers all oiled up and sexy.
I think they haven't really marketed the divas as well as they used to. I know people complain about them all the time, but chicks in bikinis=ratings.

The Stryker Diva Policy
Fire all Diva`s except Mickie, Victoria, Beth, Candice and Maria. Mickie and Victoria you build the women`s division around Beth and Candice you bring in to work TV matches and Maria can be the cute ditzy airhead she plays so well.
Raid SHIMMER and TNA Knockouts. Wrestling talent and personality first so they bring something to the table. Modelling training can be given afterwards if they have to appear in the diva segments and photoshoots WWE seems to love. Give them promo time and a good deal of house show and Heat time to build them up as realistic challengers to the division, so the crowd cares when they get into feuds.
When hiring women without experience to be divas, sign a broad mix of personalities and looks. The only requirements will be that they can have a good conversation about wrestling and potential angles, and that in doing so they show evidence of charisma and "x-factor". If they want to be wrestlers they should start from the bottom (as should male wrestlers) and work their way up through training and developmental. If they are being hired solely as valets then they should get promo training and talk with road agents about how and when to get heat etc.
No more playboy, in fact revealing photoshoots limited only to the occasional Ladmag (with more clothes on television (which can still be sexy)) so their appeal is based more on the mystery of it and their personality rather than their bra-size. Start doing promotion in other areas, different pop culture magazines that fit the woman`s personality, to broaden the appeal and market they sell to.
And before I get flamed, I would just like to say I would hold the hiring of male personalities and wrestlers up to a much more stringent selection.

Given how much rumour there was about the TNA Knockouts getting thier own showcase. Maybe they could replace ECW one week with all women's matches and see how the ratings go.
Stryker, the E already has three SHIMMER alumni (Beth, Katie Lea and Nattie Neidhart) and they used to have two others (Shantelle Taylor and Krissy Vaine, and we all know how her story turned out), plus a lot of the TNA women came from the WWE in the first place.
Plus, your idea pre-supposes that the women who wrestle for these organisations would automatically want to go to the WWE if a deal was put on the table. They could be loyal to their present company. Or with TNA for example, they may enjoy only having to do two sets of TV tapings a month at the same venue, instead of the big 300 day a year schedule

If hired, I will promote each and every Diva to the best of my abilities, and promise to push them all.
In the butt. Thank you!

i don't like stryker's idea, for one thing, these women are eye candy, strictly.
The problem with WWE is eventually they'll want them in the ring.
That's why you pick the HOTTEST chicks with wrestling talent, only the hottest.
Right now they have mostly just hot chicks with quirky personality, or lack of personalities.
What I would do is gear the girls who want to wrestle towards wrestling, and the others, just as hot chicks/ring girls. I mean UFC has them, why not just use girls as eye candy.
They are mostly there to catch the casual viewer's attention by being hot.
Oh and definitely improv and speech classes. Most definitely since they'll be doing A LOT of pr for WWE we need women who can speak and act on a moment's notice...
Eheh.
I'd be more for marketing them heavier and by further developing them as characters/personalites rather than just having them go out and shake their asses. That was the difference between Sunny and Kimberly. One was a manager, the other was a Wrestler's wife.

upon reading stryker's posts, looks like we're on the same page.
But i'm more for hiring girls based on their hotness, and that's not just the horndog i am.
Damn TNA stealing all the porn names.

We should take up the post as a joint position Joe. You take care of the bunny-side, I`ll deal with the wrestlers. Mostly Sara Del Rey and Victoria.
