Nice joke, but I would like to state there is no need to mock Flair detractors. I'm going to give saggyboyflair plenty of time, and I'm going to be habitually posting in this thread to make sure it comes back to the front, so he has lots of time to get the numbers together.

First off; "THIS THREAD ISN'T FAIR TO FLAIR!" secondly, Now I cannot think of a singular reason why Flair is a GOAT. I don't think choosing the GOAT is as black and white as it seems. But one reason in my opinion why Flair was a great in this business is that he was a great wrestler. While Hogan was a bigger draw and a bigger name (outside of wrestling) Flair always did what was right for the business. Here is an example. In the 80's when Flair was feuding with Sting, Flair always made Sting look like a million dollars by having it look like Sting was kicking his arse. And because of that Sting was made into a top guy. Now 10 years later, Hoagn vs Sting, Starrcade. The biggest PPV of all time. It drew higher buy rates than any other wrestling event ever. And how was the match? Well Hoagn just kicked Stings arse for 10 minutes before pinning him then having Bret Hart come out and restart the match and Sting won under controversial fashion. Now, while Hogan/Sting drew more people it is well known by people with eyes that Hogan/Sting was no where near as good as Flair/Sting. And why is that? because Flair knew how to wrestle and Hogan knew how to draw money. Now granted Flair has done the same style of matches for 30 years, but then again so has every other wrestler in the history of wrestling. No one changes wrestling style and match spots every day. You don't see Lou Thesz giving 30 minute bear hugs one night and then hitting shooting star presses onto flming tables the next night. Flair wrestles that same style of matches every night because that's what people want to see. Also at one point in this argument you said that Flair wasn't as good as Dynamite Kid. Sure, Dynamite was a far better wrestler wrestling wise. But on the promo's he couldn't hold a candle to Flair. Let me give you another example, would you rather hear Ric Flair give a promo about how "tonight im facingt the greatest wrestler of all time, but they aren't greater than me FAT BOY! WOO!" or would you rather listen to a Dynamite Kid promo in which he says that Davey Boy Smith was "A Test Tube Babeh" My final point, if Flair wasn't great. Why do people pay hard earned money to see him? Why would people do that for 30 years? It wasn't as much money as Hogan, but at least he drew money.

as much as i just want this thread to crawl into a hole and die (so are we expecting poor saggy to bring us the complete buyrates for every single NWA event?), i have gotta take issue with the "flair wrestles the same match every night" point. if you haven't al;ready, watch flair/steamboat 2/3 falls. then watch flair/funk i quit. then watch flair/savage at wrestlemania. how exactly are those matches "the exact same match"? i'd say that versatility is one of flair's best traits. am i the retarded one or is everyone overlooking this?

He spends too much time overanalyzing everything on here. Probably a young kid with no sense of respect for the greats.

Its was my elderely mother Flair hit during a bout of his road rage. LOL I dont hate Flair. I dont know Flair. However, I WILL say FLair is extremely overrated and blind marks for the guy cant see through the facade. How any one could watch 10-12 Flair matches in a row in (in his prime, a little past, or now) its the same FREAKIN MATCH. And Flair marks get on other guys today and in the past for not putting on "5 star matches", yet their marks for the most repetitive, routine wrestler in the history of the business. I dont call that a "good worker." I finally see your point. Its a good thing that other top stars in the industry, past and present, such as Hulk Hogan, John Cena, Bret Hart, Goldberg, Warrior, Triple H, Batista, The Undertaker and others don't have repetitive movesets or a formula that they follow in all their matches. Nope. Not at all. That'd never happen. In a choreographed sport. Indeed. It's quite funny that he can't see it considering every single wrestling match is formulaic if you want to analyse it like that.

No versatility is one of Flair's greatest traits. He has 5 or 6 spots he hits every match. JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER WRESTLER IN THE HISTORY OF THE BUSINESS. Bret: Five moves of doom Shawn: flying forearm, nip up, picture perfect elbow drop, sweet chin music Trips: High knee, knee drop, kick wham pedigree Austin: Thesz Press, Mudhole stompin, second rope elbow, stunner Hogan: Elbow Clothesline, Hulk up, Slam, big boot, legdrop I can pretty much do this for every wrestler ever. So why are we killing Flair for it?

The greatest thing about the whole Flair couldn't draw argument is that Flair is a 20+ time world champion, so I guess they just kept sticking the belt on a guy who was losing the company money. Because as everyone knows in the world of big business its all about friendship, and personal loyalties, and not the bottom line. Most business men would knock their own mother down the stairs if it was good for business. Also I'm gonna guess he never heard of the NWA championship committee, who had to all agree to put the belt on you back in the day. I don't see them backing someone if they weren't a draw, do you guys?
