Now that Mania 24 has come and gone I feel compelled to say that this was the night that made Edge the money heel of WWE. Usually the booking of Edge is a chicken crap heel, but on this night he was booked to not only look equal to the Undertaker, he was booked to look better.
Edge countered nearly every big move attempt of the Undertaker, and only lost because Taker took Edge's first big mistake and locked in his submission move. This is the first time in an Undertaker Mania match that the opponent is coming out looking better than Taker. I really feel like this match is going to be what puts Edge completely over the top as the top heel in all of professional wrestling.
This was without a doubt Edge's night as he finally got to headline a Wrestlemania and against one of the biggest stars the business has ever seen. It truly was an amazing night as the show may have closed with Taker holding the World Title, but I will forever believe that even though Taker may have won, he really put over Edge as the top heel in the business.

I agree, I was suprised to see Edge dominate. I thought he'd get beat up loads then there'd be a ref bump, some malarky with the Edgeheads and then Undertaker would win but I liked that Edge looked strong for a change.

Edge was already the best heel in the game going in, this just solidifies it. Outside of Flair and HBK, he's my MVP of Mania.

I completely agree. Edge looked like a million bucks last night. I mean he kicked out of the Tombstone! How many people have done that? I guarantee it's a short list. And for some people who say Taker holds back talent because he always wins at Wrestlemania needs to look again. If you're that talented there is no holding you back. Edge proved that last night. I thought it was classic and right up there with HBK/Flair. Very well done.

The Edge vs. Taker match was awesome. I LOVED the ending with the Undertaker slapping on the triangle choke from out of nowhere.

I was wondering this during thematch but was this the 1st time Taker's main evented WM? I dont remember if he went on last when he beat Sid.

No it's the second time he's main evented, as him and Sid went on last at 13. He did tie the record for most world title wins at Wrestlemania (3), putting himself on the list with Hogan and Austin.

I was saying it all last night, but I have no problem saying it again. Last night, Edge solidified his spot amongst guys like Rock, Austin, Undertaker, Foley, Triple H, etc. as a WWE main-event Superstar. I've been a huge proponent of Edge his entire career, and I was so incredibly proud of him last night. When the Triple Threat came on before it, my first thought was automatically "Oh my god, Edge is going to main event WrestleMania". So proud to see him in that role.
