I actually liked this gimmick. But what was the story behind its demise? Was it just dropped because it didn't go over well? youtube.com/watch?v=kfqP18ik0oE

"I hate gimmicks like this. They stuck me in this. I will do a shoot against myself and the 'powers to be'" that's called the "I'm doing this against my will..." meeeeeeehhhhhhhhhh, pass. If I recall correctly, he tried something like this while he still was goldust, just not in the same fashion.

In their defense, he WAS looking into a little boy's window at night. Normally, most thirty-something guys in the wrestling industry don't do that. Unless their name is Rob 'ill pretend u said 18 lol' Feinstein.

Thanks. It does seem like he shut down his own gimmick. I would have never thought pedophilia looking at this gimmick. I would have thought of "Hellraiser"'s Pinhead instead, but without the pins.

Man, I couldn't stand WCW at this time. All of those fake shoot promos. Most fans had no f'ing clue what was going on. Even the cardboard cutout fans in the audience seemed disinterested by 2000.

I loved that entrance... just the way he floated into the ring like that.
But it was a time when the more 'gimmicky' gimmicks were being dropped or turned into jokes anyways, so I loved it more when Dustin dropped it and spoke for himself (I don't know if that was really the plan all along, but I loved it anyways).
Another instance of WCW dropping the ball. After that I was hoping for a bigger Dustin push, fighting against the NWO along side Sting and the Horsemen.

Yeah, it was a pretty good Brad Pitt movie.
Oh, you mean the WCW gimmick. Yeah, it sucked. But so did 98% of what WCW did.

The "fear me, you will" is a little too Yodaesque. Apparently, if Raven had stayed in WCW, he and the Kiss Demon would have ended up being his lackys. But Dustin Rhodes HAS to have a gimmick. He's very boring as himself.

I don't think the Horsemen or the NWO was around still. This was like early 2000 when Russo was doing the powers that be gimmick with the Harris twins.
