Once again take this for what its worth:- rajah.com/base/node/11958WWE has signed Ryan Bishop, 27, to a developmental contract. He is a former tight end for the New York Giants. He was on the Super Bowl champs' training camp roster last season, but apparently didn't make the team as there are no NFL profiles or stats on him. He has the size WWE likes as he is 6 foot six and 255 pounds. He is currently learning wrestling in Florida Championship Wrestling. He played college football at the University of Hawaii. You can see his NFL head shot from last season at this link.

How many times will J.R. mention he was a tight end for the NY Giants?

That's not a real footballer, I hoped they'd signed Gattuso.

Well former players have been hit or miss in wrestling, so we'll see. Monty Brown, Brian Pilman, Goldberg, and either Ernie Ladd or JYD (I can't remember which, but maybe both) were football players that turned into decent wrestlers who got over, and in Pilman's case damn good wrestler. But then there's the Kevin Greenes and Mongos of the world as well.

For some reason, I first thought WWE had signed a soccer player. And, I'm from Arkansas!

That's not a real footballer, I hoped they'd signed Gattuso. I did too, but mostly for the possibility of them then re-signing Rhino and pushing them as long lost brothers. Its pretty damned plausible.

Ron Simmons, Wahoo Mcdaniel, Hacksaw Duggan, Blackjack Mulligan, Paul Orndorff, Lex Luger, Dr. Death, Danny Hodge, JBL, The Rock, Fritz Von Erich and Bruiser Brody are a few more who have played professionally or been signed to a roster at least, (not all in the NFL)

They should try hiring more wrestlers.
Not models, not reality TV stars, not football players, not actors, not bodybuilders. WRESTLERS. That's what we got when J.R. was head of talent relations. J.R.'s signees include:
John Cena Randy Orton Edge RVD Scott Baio Chris Jericho Chris Benoit Eddie Guerrero Chachi Booker T
That's 10 very popular wrestlers that all became a world champion in WWE. Johnny Ace has hired:
CM Punk
And there's the entire list of wrestlers he signed that got over.
*SIGH* Those stupid Baio filters piss me off when I'm trying to make a point.
