I totally stumbled on the fact that my mum's birthday co-incides with the anniversary of Val Venis' debut in the WWE, and this year is the 10th anniversary of that debut.
Val has been a total asset to the WWF/WWE over the past decade, and is, IMHO, one of the most accomplished workers on their roster - hats off to a guy who seems content to allow others to benefit from his skills when his look, mic skills and in-ring abilities would surely allow him to be a big, big star.
Anyone have vid of THAT steel cage match vs. Rikishi?

if Steve Williams never came to the WWE we'd have Stone Cold Val Venis showing up for a paycheck in 2008

Few things define the attitude era as much as this mans character.

Hello, ladies! *blaring sax music* *struts down ramp, licking thumbs* *gets into ring and does the towel-whip removal* *hops up onto turnbuckle* *points to own schlong* *jumps down and grabs mic* "Well ya know, today's the big one-oh for the Big Valbowski's illustrious career. But, ladies, 10 doesn't just measure the amount of years I've been kickin' ass and takin' names. Oh no! It measures something else entirely..." *winks to random broad in audience* TIME TO PLAY THE GAAAAAAAAAAME!!!!!! *guitar riff* HHH enters the ring and goes for the mic, but no! Not on this day! *gut kick* *ddt* "Ohhhhhhh yeah!" *runs over to turnbuckle* *does money shot* *pins for the 3* YOU'RE NEW CHAMPION, VAL VENIS!... Ladies... *blaring sax music*

I love Val Venis. He needs another push.
His storyline when he stole Terri from Dustin Runnels in late '98 was awesome. As was his Steel Cage match with Rikishi at Fully Loaded 2000.

I really like the guy. Val Venis should hold all championship titles and be general manager of all shows. Also president of the United States.

To one of our unappreciated workhorses (and second to RVD as the best at selling a DDT)...
Happy Valbowski Day!

To celebrate, I'm making Val in Fire Pro today. Because I'm sure as hell not going to be able to celebrate it by getting laid.

I'm actually a pretty big mark for Val. And I can do a dead on impression of him

This happens to coincide with my birthday as well. He debuted on my 10th birthday, when I couldn't have possibly "gotten" the gimmick. Today is my 20th birthday. My, how time flies...
