The only thing I can bash Flair for is not accepting the main event spot. I know he didn't want to hog the spotlight, but there wasn't THAT great buildup for the matches. Besides, the crowd was dead for most of Edge vs. Undertaker and we had Michael Cole and The Coach headlining the final WM match. Cole and Coach should never headline a final WM match again. It isn't WM without good ol' JR. Besides, WM is all about emotional moments. There wasn't that much in Edge vs. Undertaker, unless if Edge won, everyone would be going nuts. But it was pretty much anticipated Undertaker would win, hell Edge barely got a response when making his entrance. On other notes, I cant see Orton's cheap win as a final WM moment. It was great and I'm the biggest Orton mark here, and I went ecstatic when he retained the title, but it just doesn't live up to Flair vs. HBK. WM24 does go onto my top 10, but it would've gone higher if Flair vs. HBK was the last match on card. Fixed

Well I don't want to really bash him too hard.
But I do think he should have retired years ago. He really did outstay his welcome as far as I'm concerned.
Although I really did enjoy his match at WM.

I'll say one thing, and it's not really bashing Flair per say, but they sure shoved that retirement ceremony down our throats tonight. I dare say that if he wasn't Triple H's best friend none of that would have happened.

Both professionally and personally, I find Flair to be dirt. First, there's the domestic abuse. That speaks for itself. If it doesn't, ask Austin, he'll beat up your girlfriend until you get it. Then there's the disrespect for the fans that made him. During an interview once he went off on a tangent about fans using "insider terminology" like face and heel and how they're nothing but wannabe wrestlers. Shortly after this, he had someone ghostwrite a book in which he lashed out at a lot of people, likely out of jealousy, for no good reason. After insulting people who are better than Flair ever wishes he could've been, he has the unmitigated gall to call himself an author. That ancient son of a bitch probably couldn't write a seventh grade book report, let alone a book. But WE'RE the wannabes? f*** you, Flair. Now, after spending many years whoring away his legacy by jobbing to anyone with a pulse for a paycheck, we're all supposed to believe him as not only a credible main eventer but "one of the greatest if not THE greatest of all time"? Don't make me laugh. Last year he was curtain jerking with Chris Masters and jobbing in 5 minutes. If this happened 15 years ago, I could at least respect him professionally even if not as a human being. But now? Now it's just sad, and not in the way they intended.
I hate Ric Flair. <Flameshield on>

I've never seen the appeal to be honest. Though I've never seen a full match from when he was supposed to be in his prime, if those clips on Raw were examples of it, I couldn't really see any major difference in his wrestling.

I liked Ric Flair and he has had some incredible matches. But some of the stuff he did (like the face forward Flair flop) truly looked ridiculous and phony and would never cut it in a world title match today (and really shouldn't have back then). The last few years I haven't really enjoyed watching him. He just looked like someone who was holding on too long and there was no believability in his matches simply because he didn't look like he could really be serious competition for most of his opponents.

I've never seen what's so hot about Flair. My first introduction to him was when he joined the WWE in 1992. Wasn't impressed then, still not impressed now.

I think it is absolutely stupid how people are reacting in some areas.
Wrestling is a sport that seems to stay with people, there is no set retirement age because of how wrestling is about heart and mind rather than having peak physical conditioning. How many times have we seen old wrestlers? They are everywhere, and people can bash them all the time, but they keep coming back, it is one of the only sports you can do such a thing.
When the lights were on bright, and when it really mattered, has anyone seen a bad Flair match?
Flair has been used to nuture the younger talent and get the best out of a weak roster, and he pulled it off amazingly. People getting at his weekly performances on RAW over the last 7 years are severely dillusional because Flair in himself has nothing to prove, he is trying to prove FOR the other guys.
I have never been a big Flair fan but whatever the level of bashing he recieves, it is undeserved. I became a Flair fan on his work over the last few years rather than the amazing legendary history the man has, I just appreciate his whole career alot more now than before.

I always found him irrating. The match at Wrestlemania was the first time I was entertained by Flair in a long time. And also just the constant ass-kissing on commentary, and backstage segments . He is not JESUS. We get it. He will go down as one of the greatest wrestlers of all time and that's fine. But the greatest to lace the boots? Nah, never.

I think it's sad that years from now, when people go to read Flair's autobiography, they'll be presented with what amounts to sour grapes and the settling of grudges. For as legendary a figure as he is in the industry, he's his own worst enemy, letting petty issues and insecurities overshadow his numerous accomplishments.
