During their Wrestlemania recap show that airs on Fight Network Radio, The LAW aired a clip of an interview that they taped for next week with Trish Stratus where she gives her thoughts to co-host Jason Agnew about the Bunnymania match that happened on Sunday. The following is a transcript of the brief clip they played as a teaser for next weeks show which is at 11pm on CFRB 1010 Toronto and other Fight Network Radio affiliate stations. ***************** Jason Agnew: You know, I am looking at someone like Beth Phenoix, who is really a good in-ring worker and is in a Playboy Mania match at Wrestlemania, any thoughts on that because I think you and her in a match would be much more entertaining than what they are doing right now. Trish Stratus: Ya, well what is it called, Bunny Mania? Jason Agnew: Ya Trish Stratus: I have always been this way, I think there is a place for it because particularly there is a deal with playboy so there is obviously a place for it, there always will be, but I really think they could always provide the other additional idea, that is kind of what I did, I had the women's storyline going for the women's championship and then it's like Beth is the champion and there is no women's championship match, so I just... boo hoo, I don't like it. I don't like it one bit Jason. Source:- www.prowrestling.com/article/news/8972

Bark Bark! Woof Woof! She's right, but hadn't been for WWE's policy of "we hire good-looking girls. No wrestling background needed", Trish wouldn't have set foot in a WWE ring... So she's biting the hand that has fed her for many years. I know she eventually improved her skills, but that doesn't mean she has the right to question the very same booking style that brought her into the business in the first place

Beth Phoenix should not be dominated and almost beat by Maria and Ashley.

The crowd barely give a damn during eye-candy matches...
And the only decent female workers are Beth, Melina, Mickie and Victoria. And all of them combined can't touch the level of popularity Trish or Lita had.
I don't blame WWE for giving up on the "actual" women's wrestling.

Trish should come back. I'd mark for a series of matches involving Mickie, Trish, Beth, Melina, Victoria and Candice.

I seem to remember Trish defending the women's title in catfights in mud or a gravy bowl match on a few occasions, so it's not like she was wrestling only exclusively in the ring. And apart from smarks, most fans couldn't give a crap about workrate, whether it's the men or women.

Can't we have mud and gravy catfights AND "serious business" women's matches?
Yes, we can!

Its part of their legacy.

Serious womens wrestling will never sell in this country, even if the match was between to awesome female workers most people would consider it a piss break time or start hollering for some boobs to fall out.

Trish started off as bad as any of the other useless Divas , but she was given an opportunity to improve. If she had never improved, she wouldn't have lasted very long, and she sure wouldn't have been in the women's match at Wrestlemania. It is a different philosophy now when women are hired for their looks, immediately put in matches with little training, and constantly put in high-profile matches at the expense of the women who can actually work. I think her argument here is its okay to have these pretty girls who do t&a matches for a cheap pop from the men, but if you have solid female workers like Beth Phoenix on the roster why not let them have a good wrestling match too.

People seem eager to call Trish a hypocrite, but I agree with what she is saying. She's not saying that WWE should not be doing T & A stuff. She did her own share of that. She is just saying that she believes that WWE divas should try to have a better balance of eye candy and actual athleticism. She managed to successfully do both.
For every scene she did where she was barking like a dog or posing in lingerie on a table, she has just as many (and likely more) highly athletic real wrestling matches with the likes of Jazz, Molly, Victoria, Gail, Lita, and the list goes on.
Even at Wrestlemania 21 where Trish faced Christy, it was a match for the women's title. It wasn't simply a match where evil non-Playboy girls faced the freedom-fighting Playboy girls. It was an actual wrestling storyline where two divas were fighting over a wrestling championship. I think that is all Trish was saying when she booed the Bunnymania match.

OK, I'm dying to know, what do so many people find so sexy about women getting covered in mud or gravy or pudding or whatever? I'm baffled at how it seems to be just...assumed to be sexy, but for whatever reason I just don't get it.

She is just saying that she believes that WWE divas should try to have a better balance of eye candy and actual athleticism. She managed to successfully do both. Besides she had nothing else to offer at the time. She was completely new and had little training. She was just "paying her dues" as awful as that sounds. Once she got her training down, she got ridiculously conservative. I don't think she even wore anything less than pants for like 5 years. Cept for that one weird wrestlemania where she looked like she was prototyping Beth Phoenix future wardrobe.
