kinda lack something? It seems to me that they were booking the match based on what happened at Mania, and Cena gets his shot to get into the match based on matches he won a year ago. Seems like a stretch to me, and I know I'm doing something I shouldn't in applying logic to WWE's booking, but couldn't the Undertaker have walked out and made the same claim right after Cena, and then Stone Cold could have come out and said since he beat Undertaker, who beat all those guys, he should be in, too? Where would it stop? I could just imagine Regal with the microphone saying, "anyone else backstage want a piece of this action?"

We're currently up to it being the Fearsome 42-Man, with the latest addition of Funaki to the match.

Or what about Orton defending the title in a video-game exclusive "Slobberknocker" match? Have 42 guys waiting (equals 43 including Orton), and whoever is the last man standing of all of them, he's the WWE Champion. That's a 3 hour PPV by itself!

It did seem kind of strange having HHH's logic being that he wasn't pinned, and Cena was, only for Cena to then say 'but I've beat you before'.
But to be fair to creative, they did have Cena beat the two number one contenders in a handicap match, so he did kind of earn his place. Beating HHH and JBL in kayfabe was not an easy task.

They should just go ahead and put the title under 24/7 rules, just as the Hardcore title once was. I'd be hooked for life if I thought that at any moment I could see the Headbangers chase Orton through a kiddie play place with a referee in tow.

I beat my Hulk Hogan wrestling buddy all the time when he was world champ. Now I'm older and in my prime. I want my title shot.

Cena won the Royal Rumble which guaranteed him a one on one match with Orton for the title. He got the one on one match and won via DQ which in wrestling logic should grant him an automatic rematch.
HHH lost the WWE Championship to Orton and never got a return match and also won the Elimination Chamber which should have gotten a match but it was instead a triple threat where he wasn't pinned and actually delivered the move that caused the fall
Both guys have legit kayfabe claims to be in that match, and also have claims for one on one matches with whomever is the champion should they not win the title this month (since its the stone cold lead pipe mortal lock of the century that JBL is taking the fall in this match)

Silly me, I thought HHH was in the Wrestlemania match A rematch between Orton and Cena is a match between Orton and Cena. Not a triple threat. In my eyes, and in terms of an excuse to keep Cena in the title picture, he's still owed that match.

It'd be hilarious if they had JBL win, just for the sheer 'wha?' factor.
