"The King of the Mountain" Jeff Jarrett
That's right...seriously...
I was watching the "50 Greatest Moments in TNA History" and it got me thinking about something...I miss Jeff Jarrett...
I know Jarrett always got a lot of heat around these parts when he was on the top, but I've actaully always enjoyed him...since his tag run with Owen that is...and I was a big fan of "The Chosen One"...
Some people think Jarrett didn't deserve to be NWA Champion, or even be in the Main Event...but I really think that's not true...Jarrett is a solid, old school style wrestler with a touch of '80s southern heel...He's had very few bad matches, and could adapt to any style (i.e. Abyss, Raven, AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy, etc...) He's also VERY good at making his opponet look better than him...he never dominated in the ring, but always found a way to weasle the win out of it...Not to mention his ability to get under peoples skin...both the fans, and other wrestlers...he's got that aura around him of thinking he's better than everyone...
A lot of people complained that he was holding people back, or holding them down...but didn't he job the title to AJ and Raven? And didn't he put over Robert Roode just before his family issues? Like I said before, he's always been good at making others look better and being a company guy...and even though he may have held the NWA title a few too many times, or for too long, he never felt like he was holding anyone back to me. He was just using his ability to sneak by anyway possible...getting help from others if needed...or using his trusty guitar...
I'm really hoping that he is able to come back soon and be okay enough emotionally and mentally to return to being a big part of TNA...He doesn't need the World Title right away. I think he could come back face and have pretty good fueds with some of the younger heels until he decides he wants to turn again...Planet Jarrett was a cool faction that seemed like its only perpose was power, which works for a heel stable to me...and feeds Jarrett's ego and need for the title...
Anyway, my rants over...well, I'll add this too...Jarrett has some of TNA's best music ;-)
