not trying to take anything away from Mickie's title win, but it was just so out of place and with no build at all. i mean, Mickie wasn't even on tv (besides last week) for about a month.
It seems like a wellness forced title change to me
Did Beth fail a wellness test last week?
Its pretty sad that a title change can't happen these days without suspicion that the fallen champion is being suspended for drugs, but there ya go.

They usually do title changes whenever they have TV shows in Europe. It probably isn't anything.

They were probably going for Candice to win it, but she screwed up and got injured again.
Now the title will next go to Jillian, Victoria or Melina. And that's impossible for me to complain about.

I think it's down to how long Candice is out - they wanted her to win the title, but she's out for another 2-3 months, so they decided to treat the British fans to a Mickie title win instead.

They usually do title changes whenever they have TV shows in Europe. It probably isn't anything. This. They always try and do something "big" while overseas. Europe always seems to get a title change or major PPV caliber main event match for their RAW tapings. |

There was some buildup. They had a segment several weeks back, before Mania, where Mickie was bawling that she couldn't beat Beth Phoenix.
of course, why she would get a title shot seems a little random...

Yeah, and we can certainly bet you feel like this is certainly the treat!  On a sidenote, I can now Stalinize the Women's Division and say that Melina simply lost the belt to Mickie some unknown time ago, and that the title reigns of Candice and Beth never really happened. |

As nice as a moment this was, I feel sorry for Beth. After Candice got injured last October they didn't do anything with her. I'm sure they wanted a long feud with Beth and Candice, but they didn't come up with any real plans after Candice got hurt.
Hopefully they'll think of something good for Beth to do now. But I'm probably asking for too much. And yeah, this does seem wellness-influenced, but we'll see.
