When WWE tapes it's tv shows ahead of time (SmackDown, Raw every so often, etc...) I know they use satalites to beam it back to Stamford so they can edit it, etc... My question is, I have DirecTV, is it possible to pick up the signal on my dish? And if so, which channel does it get beamed accross? And when do they do it?

I think this was done in the past, I have a few matches gained using this method (I'm told). They're on YouTube too.

Don't you think they would encrypt the signal?

It was possible at one point for people who had the big ass dishes in their backyard. They picked up the signals if you knew where/when to look.
Now though im not really sure. I have Dish Network and I have no idea if you could pick something like that up. If theres a way, I don't know what it is.

The satellite system is set up much differently now. In the past when people were able to view it before it aired, the giant backyard dishes moved to different satellites to pick up wild feeds.
I used to have a dish at my cottage and would watch the NBC late night talk shows before they aired with no commercials.
