Some of you might remember a couple of months ago, I started a thread saying that I had bought ticket for my first house show -hell, my first live wrestling show period- and how excited about it I was. Well, the show took place tonight as part of the WrestleMania Revenge Tour and MAN that was awesome! That was a SmackDown!/ECW show so there were wrestlers from both brands. First, there were a lot of guys I mark for (Finlay, MVP, Matt Hardy, Edge, Undertaker, Big Show... among others ). Second, the crowd really into and playing the game. Cheering for the faces and booing the heels. And no offense to my American friends here, but that's something that is WAY cooler in French crowds than in American ones. Being able to cheer for guys like Batista without being called an ignorant mark and/or an annoying anti-smark is amazing. Third, even the wrestlers seemed to be having a good time and the heels were awesome (I especially remember MVP's speech in French before his match and Edge tearing a fan's sign apart). So yeah, a really really REALLY good time, something that I will fondly remember for a long time. I will show you pictures and videos I took when my camera is reloaded. Until then, let me just tell you what the card was: Tag Team Championship:
The Miz & John Morrison vs Jimmy Wang Yang & Shannon Moore (won by Miz & Morrison)
Triple Threat Match:
Kenny Dykstra vs Kofi Kingston vs Shelton Benjamin (won by Kingston)
Singles Divas match:
Victoria vs Michelle McCool (won by Michelle McCool)
Tag Team match:
The Edgeheads vs Finlay & Jamie Noble w/ Hornswoggle (won by Finlay & Noble)
----------intermission----------
United States Championship:
MVP vs Matt Hardy (won by Matt Hardy via DQ, therefore MVP remained champ)
ECW match:
Tommy Dreamer vs Mike Knox (won by Dreamer)
Main Event 6-Man Tag-Team match:
The Great Khali & Mark Henry & Edge vs Batista & Big Show & Undertaker (won by Batista, Big Show & Undertaker)

Morrison was there? I didn't think french fries were allowed in the Palace of Wisdom. Nah but French manicure is. As for Knox, no such chant. Actually, he nearly got a Conway pop (actually it wasn't a dead silent crowd, but it was pretty weak considering the noise we made for the other guys).

I actually perfer house shows to tv tapings. There is no lag time as there are with tv tapings, and the wrestlers themselves seem to be having a better time. They seem to be appealing to the audience, as opposed to pandering for the cameras.

I'm glad you had a good time. I've been to three wrestling events now, a PPV (Unforgiven 2003), a Smackdown/ECW show (the one where Punk sneak attacked Chavo), and a house show (the one that nobody seen, except those in attendance). I enjoyed all of them. I'm glad you had the opportunity to attend an event. No matter what condition WWE is in right now, you can never have a bad time at a wrestling event.

MVP NEEDS to rip onto Portuguese fans in Portuguese next weekend! Hell, he could do a gimmick with it on SD! and rip the fans in a different language every week!

Jesus, French as well as Spanish? How many languages does MVP speak? No idea, but some wrestlers seem to know half a dozen or so. Spanish, French, German, and Japanese all seem to be good languages to know if you are a wrestler.

I'm hoping they switch things up during the tour, otherwise what's the point of bringing the other divas on the tour?

Jesus, French as well as Spanish? How many languages does MVP speak? Actually, he just said a few words then mentionned a few soccer players before insulting them. MVP: Ca va bien ?! Crowd: YEEAAAAAAAAH!! MVP: ... Zinedine Zidane! Crowd: YEEEAAAAAH!! MVP: ...Thierry Henry!! Crowd: YEEEAAAAAAH!! MVP: ...Ribery! Crowd: YEEEAAAAAAAH!! MVP: ...Zinedine Zidane, Ribery, Henry... TOUS DES LOSERS!! Crowd: BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! MVP: LOSERS!! Crowd: BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! MVP: MOI, je suis meilleur que VOUS! Crowd: Aaaaasshooole! Aaaaasshooole! Aaaaasshooole! Also, for the records, about a minute into the match, MVP ran away from Matt Hardy and escaped out of the ring, which made the crowd start a "YOU SUCK!" chant, and MVP picked up a microphone that was at ringside and replied "MVP does not suck! FRANCE SUCKS!" which obviously made us boo heavily. ;D

you can never have a bad time at a wrestling event. Anyone who went to a WCW event in 2000 disagree with this statement

I had some fun at the two WCW shows I went to in 2000 - the first one, I got my ticket and met Scott Hall at the same time. He still owes me a beer. I got to see Ric Flair from the front row, truly amazing experience. I got my second ticket (for the Nitro taping) whilst meeting Goldberg - he was surprised I knew he was losing at Nitro's WarGames they did a week later. At Nitro, my Lance Storm sign got on TV, and I had a big argument with Chuck Palumbo.

And since this thread is useless without pics, here's the first part of a montage I made with the pics and videos I took at the event: fr.youtube.com/watch?v=Sol9uphi0l4And the best is yet to come.
