Who wants to join me in being an MMM?
I love the guy. I liked him in WWE too, to be honest, but in TNA they've let him cut loose a bit more and the guy's great. He's got the look, the charisma, the moves, and he's also pretty damn funny at times (I'm genuinely surprised that 'M-O-N-E-Y spells MONEY, man!' didn't become a meme on here).
Who else loves the double M, and wants to become a triple M?

To apply the Bret Hart scale:(look, mic skill, work) 1) look--9.5 This is pretty obvious.
2) Mic skill--haven't heard enough yet to rate him. His promo this week was very good. Good start.
3) Work ability--again, I haven't seen enough yet
So, he could be anywhere from 10-15 up to 20-25, depending on the next few weeks.

You know, I think he's one of the guys WWE thought was never going to be worth a dime and then TNA turned him around. So far, he's one of the few things TNA has done that I like.

Who wants to join me in being an MMM? Don't make fun of his stuttering problem, he's self conscious. Oh, I get it now.

Cornette had an eye for Morgan and this assistant thing has been a way for Cornette to work with him.

It's too bad it feels like (to me anyway) they're setting Morgan up to turn on Team Cage and help the heels win Lethal Lockdown as a pointless swerve...since there's pretty much no kayfabe way that Team Tomko could beat Team Cage without that sort of thing. TNA had Tomko ready to break out as a babyface big guy in the upper card, and cut that off pointlessly too, just to SWERVE people.
I could care less if Morgan's a face or a heel, but if they turn him again this soon, people are just gonna stop caring about him sooner or later...before they were ever really given a chance to see what he can do (aside from make apparently terrible decisions running Impact when Jim Cornette takes those "vacations" once every three or four episodes).
The crowd was really behind Morgan months ago when he ran-in and fought off some heels, then he started acting heelish, then turned face two weeks ago. If he turns heel at Lockdown, that'll be the third time he's turned after only one match with the company. I just don't want to see TNA screw it up, because Morgan has a very high ceiling as a giant that can talk, and hit big-time offensive moves.
Guys with that much potential, and a WWE WrestleMania main-eventing look don't just fall into TNA's laps every day...it's important that they don't botch how they use Morgan, it should be an easy lay-up/slam dunk for the company. They should protect him like WCW did with Goldberg early-on, and WWE did with Lesnar early-on for at least the first year as a regular in-ring performer. As boring as an unstoppable asskicker winning-streak angle can be, it works...and Morgan should be a main-eventer for TNA in a year (more importantly, a PPV draw against Joe, Angle, etc.) if he's booked right.
But yeah, I'm a Morgan mark. I would've had him as a heel from the get-go, and destroying jobbers with Cornette as his manager. Didn't he do a gimmick on the indies where he crushed jobbers while holding a mic, trash-talking them the entire time? I saw a clip of something like that, and thought it was pretty cool and different.

The job as an assistant was just a launching bad for Morgan, crowd got to know him and his work. But i hope you're wrong about the match though, as i've said before there is nothing to be gained from Team Cage winning. It will only guarantee that Tomko and Styles will be left in the shadows of Christian Cage. The build-up was indicating a dominate Team Tomko at first but they didn't go with it, which was a shame because it had the same vibe as Team Lesnar had. Look how well that turned out. Now the final nail in the coffin, Sting...yeah a guy soon to hit his 50's is the dominating factor.

I just have a sneaking suspicion that the outcome will be a Team Tomko win...aided by a pointless Morgan turn/swerve. I don't think TNA's booking team will want to justify four ex-WCW/WWE/ECW "names" losing to Team Tomko without their surprise fifth member (Morgan) turning on them. I'm not usually that critical of TNA booking, because it's just pro wrestling, and I like watching wrestling...but they book these finishes too many times in TNA...and it's never that shocking. Plus, a cheap win for Team Tomko (with a swerve) won't mean anything either. Won't elevate them, and nobody will remember who won the match two months from now. It's a shame if they can't justify having the heels go over clean...it's a freaking cage match with no rules, plus weapons. Anything could literally happen from a logical standpoint, but they'll probably go with their crappy, outdated 1980s Memphis (Jarrett/Mantell)/1990 Monday Night War (Russo) hybrid style of booking, giving the heels a cheap win that nobody remembers, doesn't elevate anybody...and damages a character (Morgan) that they should stop flip-flopping and protect. The only swerve scenario I'd dig for Lethal Lockdown is that as soon as all 10 guys got in the cage, they all beat the living shit out of Christian...because he's been a pretty big jerk to all of them, and has really no redeemable social qualities as a character. I'm a big Christian fan, but I'd mark for that...and it'd be quite an angle if the faces and heels put their differences aside for one night to just beat the hell out of his selfish, sarcastic ass for 10 minutes. I like Christian best when he's a paranoid loner obsessed with being "the champ", and I could buy him digging himself into that hole. I don't know if that idea sucks, and I probably wouldn't do that on a PPV (maybe TV), but it'd be different than the faces getting swerved by their mystery partner.

Actually that would be a great idea and i agree with you. Jarrett and Mantell seem to think that heels cant go over because they'll look strong, like they extended the feud with Roode and Booker by making Roode beat up SHARMELL instead of Booker T. Beating up someone's wife, dad or dog won't elevate you, beating the guy you're feuding with does.

TNA needs to learn from Joe's massive heel-success and let heels look strong in feuds more often than once in a blue-moon. They need to have Sting's old ass put somebody over, he wanted to job clean for Abyss but they opted for the DQ, lame. I'd love to see AJ get some heat back, last time I can remember him going-over was against LAX months ago before they started repushing that team.
