I've been wondering this for a while now. Does having Kane as the ECW champ legitmize it more? Or does it just show that Kane is losing it and that's the best they'll let him get (like Flair and the IC title). Does he detriment the title? Or does Kane lose value because he has the bastard child of a former world championship?
Personally, I feel like the title drags Kane down. He's already been just a midcarder at this point, and this kind of solidifies it for me. When was the last time he was in a real main event? As a credible contender? Sure, teaming him up with Taker makes him look somewhat stronger, but he's the ECW champ, and that title has been pissed on. And so has Kane.
I think the perfect way to bring both Kane and the title up where they should be is to have him beat another world champ, thus increasing the stock of him and the ECW title. Both are needed hardcore.

As much as Kane deserves to hold a title of some kind, he also needs to reinvent himself. For the better part of the last five years he's been putting guys over and now he's ECW Champ. Logic?

I think having Kane does add something to ECW. He is still a big star. Not as big as he was, but he is a notch above Punk, Chavo, and Morrison, especially when made to look like a total monster such as at Mania.

I love Kane, no matter how ridiculous his story gets, I can't help myself. However it does seem like he's just another one of the inexplicable ECW champs they've had recently. I mean hasn't it become the title they give someone just to placate them? Even being on ECW now kinda means you're low on the totem pole. Having the title there makes you king turd of crap mountain. ECW is a shell of itself, and is dragging Kane with it.

Yes it adds prestige, since WWE fans are more familar with him than the previous titleholders.

I think this is the most credible the ECW title has looked since Lashley last held it.

I think this is the most credible the ECW title has looked since Lashley last held it. Exactly that. It became really evident at Backlash. How long has it been since the ECW Title has received so much exposure?

well, having the ECW title is better than doing nothing. I dont think Kane does anything for ECW though. No offense to Kane...but I still dont watch ECW. The only ECW I watch now is when they feature ECW stars on Smackdown.

Personally, I don't like the idea of a title being used as a Long Service Award. Not that Kane doesn't deserve something for his loyalty, but automatically getting a belt is not what I had in mind.

But that's not what they are using it for. A title in a company such as the WWE wouldn't just be handed to someone on a whim, certainly not one that's meant to be a focal point of a show. They are using Kane because he fulfills whatever criteria they were looking for from their ECW champ.

I'd say Kane is bringing prestige to the WWECW title. Because the title doesn't mean anything and maybe some people will start to give a crap about it.

I voted the first one, but I don't think anything good or bad comes of Kane holding the belt. I honestly think the whole thing's just kinda THERE.

ECW is bush league, it means nothing and the title is just a europeon title for the new millenium.
Cool to see kane with a strap though

Gives Kane a purpose once again. Doesn't make the belt look half bad either.

Hence why I didn't even vote on my own poll. I feel that it didn't give any credibility to the belt nor to Kane. It just did nothing.

f they really want to give Kane a "rub" and elevate the Belt they should do a Champion of Champions Tripple threat match at ONS or NOC.

I didn't see the option I was looking to vote with. Glen Jacobs is one of the best wrestlers to enter a wrestling ring, he's held nearly every major title in the WWE, and has a gimmick that whether you still think works or not is thoroughly etched in our memories.
Winning a title on a joke of a show shouldn't lower him in anyone's eyes.
He was a wrestling Christmas tree for Creighton's sake!
Giving the guy another run at the spotlight, no matter how dingy that spotlight may be BECAUSE he's a good worker is a positive.
NOTHING can bring credibility to the ECW championship because ECW is dead.
This poor imitation is designed to give people work, which is why I can't knock it 100%, but let's keep it real. The only thing extreme about that program is Mike Adamle's broadcasting.
(Fill in comment on Adamle's broadcasting style here)
