I know that Daivari is only in for the X-Cup, but why do I have the feeling that Russo would love for him to be signed so he could write a romance angle between the two or at least pair them. The promos. Oh, the promos they could have.
I remember reading that when Cheerleader Melissa was getting tryouts for WWE, the idea was for her to play another Muslim character and team up with Muhammed Hassan and Daivari.

I think if TNA was to bring in Muhammed Hassan and Daivari as talents. They could pick up where WWE left off and have him play the character he was supposed to be before jingoism and stereotyping took hold. THey were the new type of Hart Foundation in that everything they said was true, but it made us look in the mirror and we didn't like what we saw so we boo'd them.

American companies can't present muslims, period. There is too much heat on the subject. ESPECIALLY not by redneck patriots like Vince or Jerry jarrett.

...and I don't think Vince would qualify as a redneck.
WTF? Daivari? I haven't watched any wrestling since Slammiversary and I didn't even notice that Daivari was released by WWE. When did that happen?

Is Melissa part mid-eastern or something?

She looks "exotic" enough to play an afghani. I mean she does look like this one middle eastern chick I know.
Yeah not all of them wear burkas and head coverings.

I'm always very apprehensive about angles or stables involving religion. I suspect that, however good the writer's intentions may be at the beginning, the storyline will always turn into jingoistic stereotyping, because it's easy heat.
I also am very apprehensive about any storyline that keeps Melissa primarily as a valet. I don't understand why they want to use their best worker in that role. Have her turn on Kong and let them put on the same wrestling clinic that they did in SHIMMER.

TNA already got it's quota of "stupid religious s*** they shouldn't have done" by having Saeed declare jihad on Gail Kim and ODB, so let's leave it at that.

He asked for his release in late September/early October 2007. He didn't want to do the indy circuit and not work a full schedule anymore; I heard the split was amicable.

I hope that they end up signing Daivari full time. Why they don't I have no idea. He is great in the ring, great on the stick, and would fit in better than a lot of the guys who get screen time currently.
