Is it just me, or do wrestlers who enter from the crowd usually get over really well yet you don't see it with too many guys? The only people I can think of that regularly entered from the crowd were DDP, The Sandman, and Edge. They all ended up being champions in their company and are perpetually over with both smarks and marks alike. Any examples of someone who entered from the crowd that DIDN'T get over?

Scott Hall came from the crowd the first time he was on Nitro and it helped the nWo angle get over because if he just came down the aisle it wouldn't have had the same effect.

Hall said that as well on his shoot. Originally Bischoff wanted him to come down the aisle, but Larry Zbyszko suggested Hall come from the crowd to give the impression he was invading.

I have to admit, I get very leery whenever a wrestler comes in from the crowd (or, for that matter, when they fight in the crowd). That's a situation that can get dangerous quickly, if some fan decides that means he can jump into the ring, or if someone decides to show how tough he is by taking a swing at the wrestler.
I understand showmanship, but it just feels like asking for trouble.

Did Sandman come out of the crowd in ECW? I'm sure he probably did a few times but I don't think that is exactly what got him over.
I liked when Edge came out of the crowd. His gimmick use to be very cool. I like his Rated R heel gimmick too but I thought that the whole dark urban city Edge was very original.

The Sandman did come out through the crowd, at least, in the latter years of ECW.
