Finally, The Peoples Elbow is back! Anyhow, I just wanted to say that it's great to see Cena away from the title scene for the time being. He's wrestling on the upper-midcard for Judgment Day and I think that's where he should stay for a while. Hell, if I had my wish, he'd be sent back to Smackdown, but there's probably be a better chance of me winning the lottery. Any thoughts, comments?

I can't wait till he wins the title again.
He's the most entertaining wrestler in the world today, things are better when he's main eventing.
Not a popular opinion here I'm sure, but its mine, and I'm sticking to it

I dont mind Cena, but his over coming the odds title reign was beginning to get stale.
I think he has reached the level where he doesn't need the title to be over and thus can go without it for a while.
He will however have it back by the end of the year.

I actually prefer it when he's not in a program for the championship as well.

I would love, LOVE to see a proper babyface Triple H VS babyface John Cena feud for the title. No shennanigans, no screwing or run-ins. Just a straight up respect feud that could go on for a long time, with them exchanging the belt every few months. I could watch that as a main event scene for a very long time.

I don't mind Cena having the WWE title because he actually is very athletic and a pretty good wrestler. I think the reason why people say he isn't that good is because I bet WWE told him to tone down the good wrestling and just do power moves. Seriously if you watch his first match with Angle on Smackdown in his WWE debut he is extremely good in it.
I think what they need to do is change up his gimmick. It looks like they have already got rid of the rap part of his gimmick so technically he is really just a guy who dresses up in urban styled clothes. Didn't the PG-13 Tag Team do the exact thing?

I don't think they gave him the title because they needed to 'keep him over' and that was the only way to do it. He was the biggest star and needed to be the focal point of the company. In the match that people by the PPV for, being in the main event of every house show etc. He was what was best for business. Cena was helping the title, the title wasn't helping Cena. It's kind of strange to not see him with the title, but it's also quite refreshing. It's going to be interesting to see what they do with the title and Cena, because there's simply too many guys at the top of the Raw card now that could use it. Cena, HHH, JBL, Orton, then you have the possibilities of Jeff or Kennedy gaining momentum as a face, and then you have to consider Regal, they didn't make him king for nothing. I love Cena, but I hope they don't just give him the title and face these guys on rotation for the next year, because quite honestly it's already been done. I'd like to see them be a bit more creative with Cena. His booking is fine, but just the rotating monthly challengers is what gets stale. It looks like they are going to go some way to changing it up with Regal anyway though, so it's all good.

Um, he was away from the title scene for about six months.
Personally, I don't get all the Cena hate. If it was a baby face like Jericho, Taker, Botchtista, or Shawn with the "over coming ze oddzz!!" title run I doubt there would be some much criticism by the IWC.

I think lack of Cena is why ratings are down.

As much as i like Cena i kinda agree with the OP, I think he should stay away from the title for a few more months. When Cena comes back he should continue his fued with Orton. Then at the Great American Bash, Cena and Orton should have a HIAC match, winner of the match becomes #1 contender for the WWE title at Summerslam. Cena wins and then wins back the title from HHH at Summerslam.

Cena is a good/decent wrestler but he's so boring on the Mic and seldom amuses me. The Rock was the exact opposite GREAT ON THE MIC but not the best wrestler but the right person Austin/taker/Foley/HHH could get great matches out of him.

I think he needs time away from the title for the fans to care about him as a character again, rather than as just a guy stapled to a belt.

The drama would be them one upping each other. I wouldn`t have the pedigree or the FU used once for the first 4 months of it, you have them beat each other cleanly with other moves, outworking each other, each trying to prove they are the better wrestler. They could go intense or funny depending on the results and who was on top in the feud. Not one gimmick match either, they tag together on Raw, they respect each other, PPVs run by, until on really tense match where Triple H breaks out the pedigree and puts Cena away. Cena goes intense the next night on Raw and says he will try even harder to beat him. He loses a few tag matches on Raw to the pedigree, building up to the PPV where the FU comes out and he beats Triple H for the title with that. Then you have a couple of months of "who has the more powerful finisher" before it moves into them kicking out of each others finishing moves, so neither one is proven to be better. Finally it builds up and you have a last man standing match, or an ironman match to finish it where Cena goes over. In the mean time, you have plenty of opportunities to build other guys to come in and main event. To me that would be compelling television.
