There's a certain comment I found during re-reading Edge's book (Great read, by the way. Even though it's from 2004, I suggest getting it) regarding semi-current events.
There's a chapter of the book he spends discussing TLC 1 from SummerSlam 2000. Most every picture in the book has an amusing caption, but the caption on this picture honestly disturbed me, given what's happened in the last 3 years.
Said caption reads "Want to get real heel heat? Spear Lita."
The picture is of Edge attacking Lita with his dreaded running hug while both are outside of the ring, but considering that this is a year before the news of the affair went public, does this mean that:
1. Edge is psychic?
2. They'd been doing it for a lot longer that we all thought, and this is a subtle confession?
3. I'm reading WAY too much into this, and it's all just an ironic coincidence?
Thoughts?

With Edge's equipment, perhaps 'spear' is an exaggeration.

And to further the point, even if Edge knew there would be a sexual connotation, I find it odd that he would have call it "a way to get heel heat", if he meant it in the sexual way. Sure I guess you could have technically said he'd have known it would have gotten him heat with Matt if he found out, but there would have been no way to predict that the story would have leaked out and it would have gotten him heat with the fans in the way that it did. |

I think he meant that, in kayfabe, hitting your finisher on a woman (outside the ring) is a rather heelish act and will likely get you massive boos.
