Two Smackdown/ECW tapings this weekend

The SmackDown/ECW crews have back-to-back television tapings this weekend as they will tape the next two weeks of television before their upcoming tour of New Zealand and Australia. Next week's edition of ECW on Sci-Fi (airing on 6/10) and next week's edition of SmackDown (airing on 6/13) will be taped Saturday night in Fresno, California.

- The follow week's edition of ECW on Sci-Fi (airing on 6/17) and the following week's edition of SmackDown (airing on 6/20) will be taped on Sunday in San Jose, California. The crews will then make the long flight over to Auckland, New Zealand where they will begin their overseas tour with a show on Wednesday night.

- Meanwhile, the Raw brand has a normal weekend of house shows. Tomorrow night Raw will be in Redding, California with a house show at the Redding Convention Center. Advertised for the show is WWE Champion Triple H vs. Randy Orton vs. Umaga in a triple-threat main even for the title. Obviously with Orton's injury, that will not happen. John Cena is scheduled to face JBL in what is being billed as a "Special Attraction Match". Other names advertised include Santino Marella, Carlito, WWE Women's Champion Mickie James, and Beth Phoenix.

- On Sunday Raw will run a show at the Stockton Arena in Stockton, California with a 5 PM Pacific start time. Advertised for that show is WWE Champion Triple H vs. Randy Orton in a title match, which again, will not happen because of Orton's injury. John Cena is advertised as to facing JBL in what is being billed as a "Special Challenge" match. Other names advertised for the show include WWE Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho, Carlito, WWE World Tag Team Champions Hardcore Holly & Cody Rhodes, WWE Women's Champion Mickie James, Jeff Hardy, Umaga, and the WWE Divas.

- Raw will be live from the Oracle Arena on Monday in Oakland, California.

Can't be bothered to ship that big HD set out there. Same reason the UK tapings are done at the same venue for both brands

I remember the days when Europe only had one big TV screen for sporting events, and it was at Highbury for most of the year. Athletics and cricket had to borrow it off Arsenal once or twice a year.

So basically all the Smackdowns and ECWs before the draft will be taped. We should have a decent indication of a couple of guys that'll be switching brands just off of these results.

not to sound sick but what if a major smackdown/ecw superstar died on monday. that'd screw up some plans

Yeah, say if Matt Hardy (just a random superstar, people) died, and yet he had a match two weeks after he died, how would they explain it, as they still act like SmackDown happens on Fridays.

Yeah, say if Matt Hardy (just a random superstar, people) died, and yet he had a match two weeks after he died, how would they explain it, as they still act like SmackDown happens on Fridays.

in Matt Hardy's case they could just replace him with X-Pac. nobody would notice.

But what if Matt was losing the title or something in the match? They couldn't just say that X-Pac is the US Champ.

ah but X-Pac would be pretending to be Matt Hardy and the announcers would act like it's the same person. no one would know.
