Big Show's ECW title reign is my favorite era from the show.

My how things have changed... I'm amazed it has lasted this long honestly...
It's also great that TALENT is starting to be exposed on ECW like Bourne, Elijah, Shelton, Punk, Morrison, Dreamer, Kofi.

"ECW" has gotten a lot better then it used to be. One thing that connects it to the original ECW in my mind is how most of it's stars might not've gotten the time of day on the main shows.

The first show was taped before SmackDown because Sci Fi was worried that they'd get the same crowd reaction as One Night Stand. They ended up taping way too less, which led to way too many commercials and a full replay of the Tazz-King match from 2 days earlier.
I liked The Sandman's character. Because it seemed that he was out there to prove that ECW wasn't about stupid gimmicks. I mean his first three shows he caned the shit out of Eugene, The Zombie and Macho Libre.
The second ECW show, for historical purposes, was the first time that the team later to be known as Rated RKO teamed up.

If they were worried about that, how come they went to Philly 3 weeks later and then back to the Hammerstein Ballroom in August?

Long gone are the days of "CHANGE THE CHANNEL!," that's for sure. If the ratings are any indication, they DID change the channel. And they never looked back.

I don't think the Philly crowd did much, and if I remember right, WWE muted a lot of the audience at the Hammerstein.

ECW has been good lately. Infact I can't remember the last time I came away from an ECW thinking 'well that sucked'. I think if people looked past the fact that it's not 'EXTREME!!!!!!!!111!' then they might enjoy it. It's just a good show. It doesn't try so hard like Raw. It's a fun chill show.

In the UK, for the first broadcast of the first ECW show, they had it in something like the 11am timeslot. As a result the show was edited to bits. We didn't get Kelly Kelly for a start. Then we also didn't get the vast majority of the battle royal, as it was weapon ridden. I think we got 2 minutes of the battle royal. Needless to say the show was very short, so they showed the ENTIRE FIRST PROMO AGAIN ie. the RVD one where Edge came out and attacked him.

I don't think the Philly crowd did much, and if I remember right, WWE muted a lot of the audience at the Hammerstein. I'd say the Philly crowd damn near came unglued by throwing just about everything they could at Show and Heyman and littered the place BATB 96 style and even if WWE muted most of the audience, it was still very apparent that the crowd was overly smarky and something that WWE didn't want to go back to.

The early Extreme Rules main events kicked ass. Especially Big Show vs Flair, I couldn't believe the bumps naitch took in that match.
