This was shortly after the InVasion PPV. This is the only Heat match that I've ever purposely recorded. Unfortunately WWE edited about 10 minutes out of the match to fit it on TV so the finish is kind of abrubt. I remember being really excited when this match took place because websites were saying that WWE officials were really impressed with the match and were considering giving Lynn a decent push. We all know how that ended up but we still got a really good match on free TV. Al Snow really tries to put over Lynn, while Michael Cole wants to talk about everything but the match. www.youtube.com/watch?v=o58xfHeKs-M

How exactly do you look at Jerry Lynn and think "no, there's really nothing special there?" Thanks for posting. Those two always had good matches with one another. I'd love to see what got edited out.

I remember watching this on Channel 4, and being excited that there was a hardcore match on HeAT, but then pissed off because they only used a chair.

I got one of their ECW PPV matches on tape somewhere. Why wouldn't you keep Jerry Lynn around atleast as a mid-carder he was an amazing wrestler, I guess so was Lance Storm and look what the WWF did to him. Does anyone know where/if Jerry Lynn is wrestling these days?

Does anyone know where/if Jerry Lynn is wrestling these days? Last I saw him he was just a personality on TNA. (but my knowledge of wrestling isn't exactly current) I'm sure he works shows for someone providing he's healthy.

Lynn asked for his release from TNA in August 2007. He's wrestling on the Indy circuit now and apparently last wrestled on June 14th for Southern Championship Wrestling.

Lynn kicks ass. More ass then RVD ever did I gotta disagree. If only because I think both men kicked their equal share of ass. That might just be me, though.

Let's not kid ourselves here. Without Van Dam treating him as a serious threat in ECW no one would have ever cared about Jerry Lynn or looked at him as anything more than a competent journeyman. Prior to Living Dangerously 1999 who can seriously say they cared about Jerry Lynn?
This Heat match was fun enough but was severely edited down from what I recall. I remember reading the arena results with people hyping how good the match was, but on TV it was mostly just an RVD showcase.
I think their best match is from an early ECW on TNN show, the one with Lynn having the taped ribs, they tease he can't continue, etc.
