After watching tonight's show, I gotta say good ol' JR moving to the blue show seems like the right decision. I don't know if it's the taped environment ( though I suspect that plays a role), but he sounded better than he has in quite some time. I'm liking him and Foley together, and like the decision to move him over there.

I can't wait to hear what Lawler/ Cole sounds like
When they were together before at least Lawler was a funny/annoying heel. Now he's as subdued as a puppy dog

I agree. I thought it was odd that he sounded so...happy and laid back. He didn't really sound like he was forcing like he does IMO a lot on RAW. I thought he'd phone it in, but I'm glad he didn't.

It's something different. Even more so, it's something different that seems to be working out in week 1. He and Foley click together rather well. The real test will come on PPV when he and Foley get to call a long 20 minute match together. I can't wait.

JR may have been a Raw institution, but he was a great fit for Smackdown. Having Mick Foley doesn't hurt. Smackdown was great all around tonight.

I am really hoping this is the kick in the ass that both he and King need to regain their HOF form. Yes they are good and one of the best teams ever but, they have been coasting for years now. JR seemed to have a fire under his ass tonight to prove that he is still the man and better than anything else WWE.

I honestly think the JR-Cole trade was a great one. JR and Foley seem like they're going to be a lot more wrestling-based in their commentary, where-as Lawler and Cole have always been more entertainment-based. Now you don't have commentators that contradict eachothers styles.

Seems like they are trying to make the shows more balanced now with the last draft.
I still don't get why we're seeing all these different guys from other brands on the shows. It's like there really isn't seperate rosters.

I actually found Smackdown fully watchable tonight, didn't find myself swapping channels at all; so yeah.. I'm really liking the new talent that was brought in (JR included, he actually, as someone else said, sounded ALOT better, not so much screaming and sounding like he's forcing emotion.) In short, I's a happy fuzzball with the changes, and hopefully Cole sounds and fits as good as JR did.

I think going post-production puts less stress on JR, and he gets to really work on getting things right. I know a lot of people have problems with "overproducing", but not me. I mean they have to make sure things go the way they are supposed to. JR and Foley are great ad-libbers. I like Foley as the sizzle and JR as the steak. Really it's like hearing the two biggest wrestling geeks commentate a match.

I never had any doubts about JR and Foley. It's a welcome change of pace. With him and HHH, Smackdown will feel different for a while.

JR doesn't do post-production. He said himself he wont do it.

JR doesn't do post-production. He said himself he wont do it. I thought he only said he wouldn't fly to Stamford to do it. I don't think he said he was opposed to doing it at home like Michael Cole had started doing.

JR/Foley is looking to be a GREAT team. This whole thing just might be enough to get me to watch more Smackdown.

I just hope Cole/Lawler doesn't suck.
