There are movies and television shows that are timeless. You can enjoy them no matter how many years removed you are from them.
And then there's the ones that are VERY dated.
I know I'm gonna get my ass kicked on this one but, Dr. Strangelove. I've watched it several times and I know it's on all kinds of AFI lists n' crap but watching it today, it bores me and doesn't make me laugh at all (and I love Peter Sellers).
The other is Laugh-In. I've watched episodes and maybe it's because I wasn't around during the 60s that I cannot laugh at any of the "jokes" and kooky characters.
EDIT: I just remembered the first two Scary Movies (I haven't seen any after that). They reference commercials and tv shows that hardly anyone remembers anymore.

The Goonies. I was tempted to turn it off and delete it from my tivo several times during a viewing last night.

The Birds.
Clash of the Titans.
Most CGI heavy films from the 90's (though some, like Jurassic Park and T2 hold up very well).
And anything with Dick Clark in it.

The Goonies. I was tempted to turn it off and delete it from my tivo several times during a viewing last night. Aside from the music, that movie still holds up, imo.

This why movies like Meet The Spartans and Epic Movie suck. Who is gonna get all those Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Youtube jokes in ten years? I mean who remembers the Zsa Zsa Gabor joke was about in the opening credits of Naked Gun 2 1/2? Or the 'He never has another cup of Coffee at home' gag in Airplane! was referring too. Don't get me wrong Naked Gun 2 and Airplane! are awesome. It's just that spoof films today are overloaded with current pop culture references that they doomed to go into obscurity. Very fittingly too.

Sometimes I wonder if these "<insert adjective> Movie" will be this generation's Amazon Women on the Moon or Kentucky Fried Movie movie.
I'm still waiting for "Italian Movie" btw.

This is only a small portion as to why movies like Meet The Spartans and Epic Movie suck. Who is gonna get all those Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Youtube jokes in ten years? and even now, with the pop culture reference still recent, these types of movies make Big Bad Z want to blow his brain out
If I may correct you a little bit ;D

That's the reason I watch most of the things that I do-because they're dated. It takes me away from the present.

Garbage Pail Kids and Monster Squad sure didn't age gracefully. Gotta disagree there. Monster Squad was a well made movie, Garbage Pail Kids was NEVER good. I'm gonna have to say the show Perfect Strangers. It's a terrible show.

I'm gonna have to say the show Perfect Strangers. It's a terrible show. I just watched the Monster Squad the other day, and it wasn't too bad. The one that it was kind of painful for me to sit through was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Secret of the Ooze. It was probably my fault though, since I've never seen the movie sober before. ;D I found a clip but the lighting on it is crappy. It sure isn't no Italian Spiderman ... ;D

Monster Squad is still awesome!
Wayne's World has not aged well in my mind. They didn't do much of a job researching metal heads, me thinks. It bugs me for some reason.

The Birds, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Friday the 13th, Night of the Living Dead. BLASPHEMY!!!!!!! The only thing that brings down NOTLD is that it's in black and white. But as films in general, these movies rock and remaking them will not produce movies as good.

The original run of Doctor Who. The SF were never great, but that wasn't the point. But the writing and acting are so incredibly overblown and (at times) cliche, that the show is nearly unwatchable so many years later.

Eh....as it's biggest fan, I have to admit the shark from JAWS hasn't aged very well.
The movie still kicks ass, though. And somehow, ol' Bruce is twice the shark that the CGI abominations were in DEEP BLUE SEA.
The animatronic shark from DBS, now....that's another story.
