I had to explain to med students what TB is.

Seriously, waiting in line at my old college to pick up some transcripts, in a mile long line, some girls training to be nurses were discussing that "test" they have to get for something called "TB"

Girl 1: "What is that anyway?"

Girl 2: "I think it's like...hepatitis kinda"

Girl 1: "Well...how do you get rid of it?"

Me: "Usually, it gets rid of you."

Girl 1: " WHAAA? What is it?!"

Me: "It's kinda like whooping cough but it's more severe, ridiculously contagious, and it'll kill you if not treated properly."

Both: ""

Me: "Well...you...um, don't have to worry much about it unless you're in prison, or a nursing home, or a poorer country."

Yes, these girls are training to be nurses. And they didn't know what TB was. Those are totally the kind of nurses I want taking care of me.

How can they not know what TB is? Hopefully, they do not meet their requirements to continue on as a nurse. Although, if they dont know what tb is, we wont have to worry about them passing anytime soon

No, that's mono aka mononucleosis.

Mononucleosis is the kissing disease. TB refers to Tuberculosis, which kills more people than it should these days because people are lazy and can't be arsed to get a simple shot.

On an unrelated note, I thought I had mono once, but it turned out I was just really bored.
