I disagree. Killing Joke to me was great and What About the Man of Tomorrow is one of THE definitive Superman stories in my view. Love League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and Top 10 as well.

Moore's Swamp Thing was NO turd, my friend. It helped change the way comics are looked at!

But at least Vaughan did his crappy in a timely fashion! agreed. Joss Whedons probably one of my favorite/writer/director/creative people, but seriously, if you have so many things on your plate already, don't go adding even more projects to your plate.

Other: Garth Ennis.
His work on the Punisher and They Boys both entertain and disturb me.

This list needs more Garth Ennis and Brian Michael Bendis. Can you find room for Jeph Loeb in there, too?

Alan Moore. He has come up with more self-contained universes and characters in his career than probably most of the guys on that list combined.
He could probably get it for Watchmen or Top Ten alone, they're so self-contained and brilliant.

P.S. Loeb has turned to liquid suck in recent years. I mean come on, Hush? What the f*** was that?
