I know a lot of you are big on films so hopefully this will be appreciated. A full print of Fritz Lang's Metropolis has been found in Buenos Aries. This really is pretty much a holy grail for lovers of cinema. Three articles about the discovery - www.aintitcool.com/node/37324www.zeit.de/online/2008/27/metropolis-vorab-englischwww.aintitcool.com/node/37332I realise this seems to be one of those films people get told to watch, or have forced upon them in school/college and sometimes dont get the hype about like Citizen Kane, but this is a really important find.

this and things to come are two of my favorite sci fi movies (if you would call them that). really, almost every concept of the "future city" (design wise, at least) can be seen in the architecture of metroplis
very interesting, ill have to read the articles.

Dude, this film is what pretty much made sci-fi films possible! Not only that, but it was the grandfather of all modern special effect techniques.
If there is a Movie Hall of Fame, this would be in the Hall of the Gods.

Wow. I had to watch the movie last year for school and liked it. It was the version with '80s music though, so I just muted it . This is awesome though.

Anyone see the unintentional hilarity of a guy named Adolpho sending a film from Germany to Argentina? Might have to be a bit of a history buff to get that one, I guess.
In any event this is phenomenal news.

In any event this is phenomenal news. Oh yes, the Nazi exodus to Argentina after the fall of the 3rd Reich. I knew of that event from 2 places: 1) History Channel 2) Hellsing

Seriously though, Adolpho, it's almost like the jokes wanted to be written.

Lots of legendary lost films have been found in the last 10 years. Edison's Frankenstein and Disney's Little Red Riding Hood to name two.

I'm seriously hoping London After Midnight gets found. The stills re-creation only serves to make the actual movie look awesome! Great to hear about Metropolis, though.
