-- Mr. Kennedy isn't expected to get much of a push despite his move back to SmackDown, reports the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The feeling is that he'll continue to tread water and pretty much stay in the same position he's been treading on Raw during the past year.

I can only speak for myself but if that ends up being the case they'll find themselves short one viewer. When the company is trying to 'freshen up' the main event scene how do you NOT do an Edge/Kennedy program? Did they see how over Kennedy got in the Regal program and the pop he got running in on Burchill after Katie Lea's first victory? And the 'spear through the ropes' pop?
There is no reason Edge/Kennedy can't be the best program of at least 2008. There's actually backstory. There's Kennedy as the rebellious tweener face. If they keep having him job to Matt f***ing Hardy they're more lost than I thought.

This means he'll be WWE Champion within four months.

The Wrestling Observer also reported that Hayes and crew were high on Trevor Murdoch and look where it got him.
I think Kennedy needs to prove that he can be a reliable asset before he gets a better push. If the guy can get through the summer without a wellness violation or an injury that'll shove him for at least a few months, he'll probably get a sustained push. I can see why they'd be suspect about pushing him off the bat, as the guy has the unfortunate luck to either get hurt or screw up just as he's about to get the push of his career.

Well, at least he should get some more mic time on Smackdown. That's all I ask for.

I had hoped he would have some sort of feud with Orton, and until Orton got injured, thought it could have been a potential for Summerslam's undercard.

Meh. Who cares?
Kennedy definitely isn't ready to be in the main event. Name one consistent feud or program he's been involved in from start to logical conclusion (not changed at the last minute)
He hasn't had consistently great matches either. About all he has done consistently is cut decent promos. That is not world championship material. He really has to prove himself.
And despite the negative spin this newz puts on it, it's not always a bad thing to be in the mid card. If he works hard, gets over, puts in good performances... he'll get to the top soon enough. And he'll be far more likely to succeed THEN than if he got pushed into the title scene at this stage.

Name one consistent feud or program he's been involved in from start to logical conclusion (not changed at the last minute) Undeertaker, Fall 2006. He beat Undertaker by DQ at No Mercy and then in a First Blood match at Survivor Series, and Undertaker beat him in a Last Ride match at Armageddon.

In other news,
Mr.Kennedy may or may not be able to say his trademark phrase on Smackdown.
