I can't wait. The first time I heard about this movie I was like NO f***IN WAY!
I loved the first movie.
Liked the mediocre sequel.
I even liked Tokyo Drift.
I will be there, June 5th.

Well, this thread is going over better than I thought it would, LOT of F&F haters on this forum.
I will admit, the flicks aren't oscar worthy pieces of cinema, but I still dig them. They're just FUN. The first movie was a GREAT turn your brain off and enjoy the colors and action kinda movie. Second one...well, I liked it when it first came out, but over time grew to like it less, and I LOVED Tokyo Drift.
I'm most definitely waiting for this one with muuuch excitement.

If they can do this.......surely they can eventually complete MK: Devastation! I do like the movies though. My cousin knows most of the lines from the first movie. You almost had me? You never had me - you never had your car.

It was a fun little "Heeey sweet" moment they actually added post production, I believe. The movie isn't half bad either, it starts off cheesy as hell but it gets better.

Yeah, I may know a quote or two myself from this movie. I actually like the idea of another movie. Didn't care too much for the second one, but I thought the third one wasn't too bad, actually fun.

You know, I'd watch this movie if I were promised a 5 minute stretch of Vin Diesel yelling random things. He's got the best yell I've heard in a long time.

I recall Vin Diesel being to expensive for the part 2. But I guess the franchise has made enough dough to get the original cast back for the finale. Very cool.
I also recall the original plans of an intricate trilogy being scrapped b/c VD couldn't get signed. Part 2 was going to be really dark w/ Rodriguez turning on Diesel and Diesel being captured by crimelords. Of course everything ends happily by part 3 ala ROTJ minus the muppets.

Anyone see the Point Break parallels? It has almost the same plot and even ends with the same shot!

Point Break isn't the only inspiration. TFATF is ALMOST a remake of a Chinese film called The Legend of Speed 2, right down to the emphasis on nitrous, rivalry between two groups of racers, and one of the supporting characters dying. The Legend of Speed 2 was somehow a LOT more melodramatic than TFATF at times (which is saying quite a bit, they were both pretty damn melodramatic), but yeah, TFATF borrows from both in a big way, but I see a lot more Legend of Speed in there. If you can ever make it through all the friggin corporate logo eyecatches, here's a music video from The Legend of Speed 2 And another, featuring the movie's "sad moments" www.youtube.com/watch?v=jlDZ3Xted8E&NR=1I have this in my DVD collection somewhere, I'm a fan of these sorts of movies.
