I'm not one for sharing personal stuff on a message board, but I thought I had to mention this.
I woke up this morning around 7 am with severe stomach pains and the worst headache I've ever had. I've had some bad headaches in the 21 years I've been alive, but today's was the absolute worst. It was so bad that I was laying in bed thrashing and slamming my head against my pillow. Sounds counter-productive but I had to do something.
I go into my bathroom with my eyes almost closed because whenever I opened them the headache got more severe. I vomited in my bathtub (no way am I putting my face near a toilet) for what seemed like forever. Towards the end I was dry heaving and started to throw up a little blood. Once the vomiting stopped, I thought I was done and just needed sleep, so I went back to bed. About 11 am I woke up and it literally felt like someone was shoving knives into my stomach.
My dad took me to the hospital and I spent like 45 minutes in the waiting room. It's a good thing it wasn't an emergency. So, I get in and the doctor pokes around my stomach thinking my appendix had burst. Great. After I told him my symptoms, he sent me down to get x-rayed. After what seemed to be about an hour or so, he finally comes back in and tells me there's nothing wrong with my appendix, but there was some trace of a norovirus in my pee.
Final diagnosis: food poisoning
He explained to me that since my body's immune system was weakened by donating plasma and that I had the beginning of the gastric flu (gastroenteritis) in my stomach, the virus could have been fatal. Now I'm on antibiotics for the next couple of weeks or so.
The only real thing I had to eat yesterday was a steak I got from Wal Mart. That's what I get for buying a 4 dollar steak. I think I'm going to lay off the red meat for a while.
Anyways, that's how my day went. I posted a couple of times today but was really holding back on telling this to you guys.
