I voted for G1, which was the one I grew up watching, though G2 and Beast Wars come in 2 and 3 (maybe tied) and they're respectable close too.

What is G2 then? Is that the head master episodes or is that still considered G1? Or those few episodes they showed after the matrix emptyed out?

G1. Although why they never cast Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime, in every show after it, ever, is beyond me. No matter how good the series is, something in me dies a little everytime Optimus Prime sounds like a 20-year old, or an adolescent. Peter Cullen voicing Optimus was what made the 2007 film for me.

G1 and Beast Wars were part of the same continuity, at least as far as the related TV shows were concerned. I actually marked for that when that became evident. The death of Dinobot was the best Transformers episode of any continuity, IMHO. just re-reading through the thread, and it occurred to me - isnt beast machines supposed to be the continuation of beast wars? idont follow it so closely, but i thought was supposed to take place 'after' the beast wars. (after in quotes because they travel in time on ther way back to cybertron) so thats really all one continuity.

hm...Beast wars was on TV when I was growing up.. but I never liked it.. don't know why.. I just.. didn't
I got a box of G1 Transformers toys and videos from a cousin so I got into it instead
Have to go with G1 because of 3 things
1) Starscream 2) Soundwave 3) Transformers the good Movie...

G2 was the toy series from 1990 EDIT:The toys are almost the same with soem new characters, here is a good website: www.seibertron.com/toys/index.php?f_series=18
