I hate these.
When a movie is over it should be REALLY over. The last shot is suppose to be the lasting image. Its not cool to make audiences sit there for 10 minutes.
Whats REALLY bad is when its something important. Like X-Men 3 when you find out Xavier can still move stuff with his mind. A bunch of people left thinking he lost his powers. Something like that should be in the actual movie before the end credits...

Like 'em, but I usually watch my movies home, not at a theatre. At a theatre, when the credits roll, I'm usually with everyone else getting up and getting out before the traffic gets stupid. I really have to know if there's something after the credits beforehand to want to stay (and like the movie, too).
Yep, I missed the ending scene from "Iron Man". I wish I knew about that ahead of time.

What's even more cruddy is the mid-credit scenes. There's not as many as the entire post credits, but at least with the entire credits you're guaranteed enough time to go play a game of Galaga, or that's how I think anyway.

I see it as a reward for those who will sit through the credits. At a theatre, when the credits roll, I'm usually with everyone else getting up and getting out before the traffic gets stupid. How are you beating traffic if you are leaving with everyone else? Stay for the credits, you don't have to wait for everyone to move, you sit comfortably, and by the time you get up out of your seat and out of the theater, use the restroom, and casually make it to your car, everyone should be on their way out.

Yeah I'm at the point now where I fast forward through all the credits of all my movies just to see if there's something more there.

Spoilers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Went to see Dark Knight, and when they let us in the credits were just ending. I'm glad theres no post credit scene. Man, when I saw a 12:45 PM showing today, they actually stopped rolling the credits after only a minute or so because they needed to clean up for the next show... Pretty much proves nothing great was coming.

I see it as a reward for those who will sit through the credits. Same here. I've angered members of my family, especially my dad, for insisting on staying until the credits are completely over. I finally got him to leave me alone about it and quit bothering me when I said he was paying for us to see the movie, so we might as well watch all of it and make sure we didn't miss anything at the end.

Kornheiser used to joke that there nothing as odd as watching a movie in LA. EVERYONE sits through the credits - usually because they're waiting to see their name.

I know it's a game but Metal Gear Solid games are bastards for doing this cause the credits take ten minutes just to hear some teaser for the next game.

I don't think they should put anything after the credits at all. If you wanna show bloopers or something like The Cannonball Run movies during the credits ok, but don't try to keep me there.
At the same time, I don't like how networks buzz through movie credits a hundred miles an hour. A lot of people work really hard to make a movie happen, and they deserve time to let their name be seen, even if noone's watching but them.

I wouldn't doubt it that LA people would do that. I heard once from someone that its a show of respect to the people that worked really hard on the set of a movie. I usually want to find out about a certain actor or a song and who it was by.

It's really annoying when you work in a cinema. Especially with films like Pirates of the Caribbean, where the credits roll for ages and people stay to wait for the scene after the end credits. You can't start cleaning around them or turn the lights up and there are normally people already waiting to come in for the next show. And cleaning up after 300 people takes quite a bit of time.

You know, at first glance, I thought the title of this thread was "POST CREDIT SCORE", and I thought "That's none of your Goddamn business!"

I stay through the credits as respect to those who make the movie.
Plus I enjoy reading about the music used in the movie, the catering they used (especially when it's something like "Ben's Chicken Shack"), and whom the movie makers would like to thank.

A friend had insisted I stay after the credits for Jay and Silent BoB Strike Back. So I did...and yeah......I guess it meant more to him than me. I had to watch the Clerks 2 documentary, like 6 years later to even know what was happening in that little scene.
