I'm headed your way for my b-day this weekend and I need a little bit of help. I'm staying at a hotel near O'Hare and will be taking the Blueline into Downtown. My question is, is there a stop on the Blueline that is close to Lincoln Park Zoo? Or do I need to get off somewhere and take a bus?
If there is a stop close by, is it open 24 hours and how far is it from the Zoo? Walking distance?
Thanks!

I would take the blue line to Jackson, transfer to the red line, and then take that to Fullerton. One thing I have to warn you about though, is that the blue line at O'Hare is under construction, so there is no blue line from O'Hare to Rosemont. However, they have shuttle busses to take people from O'Hare to Rosemont, so you're gonna wanna take one of those and then you can get on the blue line at Rosemont.
Sorry if that's a little confusing, but...well, that's Chicago.

So basically, I take the Blue line from Rosemont to Jackson, then transfer to the redline and get a train to Fullerton? Is there a place where I can see if that station is open 24 hours? And do you have any idea how far the Zoo is from Fullerton? And the length of the ride? Sorry to be confusing, thanks me

I'd have to look up a map online, so you might as well just do it yourself. You can go to transitchicago.com/ to find train schedueles and they even have a program where you enter in where you are and where you wanna go and it comes up with a route. It doesn't always actually end up being the best possible route, but it will get you there. Also, if you find the zoo's address and enter it into google maps, they show train stations on the map, so you'll be able to see where it is in relation to the zoo. If all else fails, hail a taxi. That's the Chicago way.

I'm going down there to see Blind Melon at Jammin' @ The Zoo, and also Libertyville the next night. So that weekend will be fun filled.
Thank you!

I looked it up on the site, and your way is a hell of a lot easier. Either way, it'll probably take me an hour/10-hour/15 to get to where I want to be.
Thanks again.

if you're going to downtown from the o'hare stop give yourself some time, the blue line can be PAINFULLY slow at times.

Man, I haven't been on the Blue Line since the last time I was in Chicago for New Year's Eve and they were letting people on for a penny. I didn't have a penny, but they let me on anyway.
Drunks and homeless everywhere.

I wish I could ride the train for a penny. It doesn't seem expensive when you don't have to do it much, but the cost adds up if you have to use the train everyday to get to work.

They only did the penny thing for New Year's because of all the drinking and trying to get people to avoid driving for obvious reasons.
I think it costs almost 2 bucks to ride the trains in Chicago now.

You got two options these days. Two bucks for public transportation. Or four and a half bucks for a gallon of gasoline. Either way, we're all getting the Joan Collins treatment.

Yeah, that's true. Pretty much it's just expensive to get around these days.
