As I said, I don't think she or at least her managers etc have any intention of putting her naked on film anywhere. But it's good for some soundbites, 'news' stories etc which can only translate into $$$.

I didn't see any of this coming. Well, you're just going to have to go to her house and tell Billy Ray his a dead beat dead, Steve. I'm gonna throw a chair, too.

And when there's a backlash, Billy Ray and Miley are gonna say they were hypnotized and deceived into doing it, because you know, when it comes to child stars and their parents there is no personal choice. I have some questions: 1) Why is it so bad for teenaged female "celebrities" to be good role models? Why do they feel the need to suddenly become skanks or exhibitionists? 2) Why are teens in such a hurry to grow up? Everyone only gets to be a teenager once. When it's gone, it's gone, and you never see that particular freedom again. Society always sends mixed signals on these two things. No matter which path you choose, they'll have something to bitch about and say you should do the opposite.

Didn't Brooke Shields go nude in a movie when she was like 15-16? Didn't really hurt her career. If it isn't just nudity for nudity's sake, and actually contributes to the story of the movie, I don't see too much of a problem with it. Yeah but Brooke Shields didn't show anything. It sounds like Miley's going to show the whole nine yards. I think he's talking about Pretty Baby. Brooke was actually 11 or 12 when that movie was filmed and she did in fact show things in it.

"I see now that it was a bad idea, especially considering my image as a role model to a lot of little girls so I've decided not to go through with it. I shouldn't have considering acting in the project based on bad advice I'd received."

If this is a PR stunt, I think it's a sad commentary when you can lie your way into getting loads of publicity and the benefits that inevitably follow.

I also feel that this is a PR stunt, just like the Vanity Fair non-debacle. it's only a matter of time before people start calling the Cyruses... Cyrus's... Cyrusi's bluff.

I don't think there's any law about a person being nude on film under 18.
Thora Birch did it in American Beauty and I'm pretty sure Christina Ricci did it in Mermaids.

I think there was some kinda flak for Thora Birch when they 'found out' ( as if they weren't aware) she was under 18.
I think ya can have 'em on film so long as it's not in a sexual context. Not a hundred percent sure, but that sounds right.

OK... people have to realize that Miley Cyrus has nothing to do with her father anymore, she has her own separate agents. I'd imagine with as how huge Miley is, her dad has little, if ANY, part in his daughter's life.
Plus, with the direction America is going now with it's sexual glorification, of course girls are going to be "forced" to grow up younger and younger. Girls are starting to hit puberty now as young as 10, which is unheard of in our culture.
Plus, imagine this, in response to the Vanity Fair shoot. Someone comes up to her agents and her and ask how much to get her to pose like that. Let's start off at, say $10,000. No, she's a good girl. Ok. How about $15k? No? $20k? The amount is going to keep going up until she's no longer a "good girl". It's the same thing that happened to Britney Spears back with that Rolling Stone shoot when she was 17. As far as anyone was concerned then, she was a good, old fashioned Christian girl from Arkansas. After she got offered a king's ransom, she changed her lifestyle real quick.
With celebrities, there's no more "good" and "bad", unless the word "publicity" follows it. As long as the demand is there, there is going to be a drastic exponential explosion in sexuality of younger and younger celebrities. Don't forget the big following that Dakota Fanning got when it was rumored she was going to be doing a pedophile rape scene.

Britney's not from Arkansas. Not that Louisiana is a different world, just sayin.

If it's appropriate to the movie, I don't have a problem with this. There are naked kids and babies in films enough just because that's the way life is if they're getting a nappy changed or a bath or whatever. It's not like we're about to go pull a Pee Wee in the theatre while seeing this film.
Hell, if she's starring in it, how many of us are going to see it anyway?
