Don't forget the big following that Dakota Fanning got when it was rumored she was going to be doing a pedophile rape scene. Good lord that woulda been disturbing.

Plus, with the direction America is going now with it's sexual glorification, of course girls are going to be "forced" to grow up younger and younger. Girls are starting to hit puberty now as young as 10, which is unheard of in our culture. Plus, imagine this, in response to the Vanity Fair shoot. Someone comes up to her agents and her and ask how much to get her to pose like that. Let's start off at, say $10,000. No, she's a good girl. Ok. How about $15k? No? $20k? The amount is going to keep going up until she's no longer a "good girl". It's the same thing that happened to Britney Spears back with that Rolling Stone shoot when she was 17. As far as anyone was concerned then, she was a good, old fashioned Christian girl from Arkansas. After she got offered a king's ransom, she changed her lifestyle real quick. With celebrities, there's no more "good" and "bad", unless the word "publicity" follows it. As long as the demand is there, there is going to be a drastic exponential explosion in sexuality of younger and younger celebrities. Don't forget the big following that Dakota Fanning got when it was rumored she was going to be doing a pedophile rape scene. True. Sad, isn't it?

It's just the umpteenth chapter in the annoying and tiresome "You want to bang Miley Cyrus even though she's underage. No, you want to bang her BECAUSE of that!" saga we've been exposed to since she came around.
The "racy" pictures were the first huge hint, and the nude scene is just another teaser.
There's no bad publicity, all is good publicity. And it's working.
Anyway, she wouldn't be the first underage girl to shot a scene with no clothes on... I don't see all that problem. It's just the faux moralism of the media and of the common people that creates such a fuss about it.
And the entourage of Miley know that oh so well

Kiera Knightley went topless in The Hole when she was 15 years old.
Thora Birch was 17 during American Beauty and according to the director`s commentary on the DVD, there was a social services agent there during the filming of the scene to make sure everything was ok. It`s been a while since I watched that mind you.

Yu have to call someone a belly rubber and a knucklehead. And tell him he isn't allowed to watch my show anymore. You tell him it's Moron Free T.V. and He Can't Watch. You tell 'em, Steve!

Of course the legal age is 16 over here, so someone being 17 and neckid makes less difference, I think.

Actually that's the legal age for sex, I guess nudity on film is still 18 or something. I don't know anything about this law.

Screw child laws, let it happen more often! This is where things get on a slippery slope. I don't think it's acceptable in this day and age to have a 15 year old girl nude on film. There's way too many sexual predators out there and you'd just be catering to their sick fantasies.

I have some questions: 1) Why is it so bad for teenaged female "celebrities" to be good role models? Why do they feel the need to suddenly become skanks or exhibitionists? . There's some good ones! Amanda Bynes, and uhhhhh

Is Amanda Bynes of legal age yet? She was kinda cute.

She's also, supposidly, a very devout Jewish girl who, once the camreas stop rolling, goes back to her regular life.
Hollywood could really learn a thing or two from her, Emmy Rossum, or that girl from Bridge to Terrebithia.

Britney's not from Arkansas. Not that Louisiana is a different world, just sayin. You're absolutly right, I appologize. I was just talking to a friend of mine from Arkansas when I posted that, so I got states mixed. I actually made fun of him being from Louisiana...

So, teenage girls can go wild at parties and have a nice round of "let's smurf with a stranger" every week-end, preteen girls can be flooded with not-so-ambiguous sexual messages, toys and lifestyles (Bratz & co), but God forbid an almost legal girl appearing naked in a movie... I guess we're speaking "shower-naked" here, not "sex-naked" so to me it's absurd going in Full-Victorian mode and hiding ourselves behind a ridiculous Mrs. Lovejoy "will someone please think of the children". Many, many girls the age of Miley have had sex already, so I don't see why we should act like we're speaking of a 8 years old here.

If that stuff is happening (and of course it is!), then there's proof that parents aren't really trying anymore.

There's way too many sexual predators out there and you'd just be catering to their sick fantasies. Except this stuff (ephebophilia, specifically) has gone on since the beginning of time it seems, only now has it been deemed socially unacceptable and psychologically damaging. NOT that I'm condoning it, I'm just saying that in another time this would be considered normal. Well maybe not so much the "teenagers acting like whores" part, which I agree is a BIG problem that probably exacerbates things.
