I agree that Cena's promo on raw just sounded too forced, like cena was trying to turn a nothing into a something. Cena's problem is that his words are to cleche', and that's because they aren't his words at all, they're all a writer's words, bland as they are. Cena is one of those guys that has something in common with the old era, and that's talent. He's a guy that they need to do things with that they used to do with the old generation, that is, give them a topic that they have to touch on, put over a match or something, and just let cena do the rest. But no, they write every single peice of what he says, word for word, and they don't even do a good job with it.

Just thought I'd say that. I've finally admitted it to myself, even though I hate his character his promos lately really make me want to like him. Especially when he forgoes the "POOPY" jokes. That's what I came on here to say. That promo was genuinley brilliant, when he drops the goofy stuff and goes back to ruthless agression, I like him.

It was a good promo for the first couple minutes, then it just started to drag on. A lil bit shorter, it woulda been fine.

imho, his intensity always feels way too put on. i think he's generally a happy go lucky guy, so he may not have any real anger to switch on. and when his promos end, his face looks like he's holding back laughter. what he actually says is almost inconsequential, its all in the delivery, because almost all promos are some variation of "im gonna kick your ass". plenty of people get into his stuff, i personally have just never felt him (so to speak).

I thought it was a great promo, I think I might actually like Cena when not the complete center of attention.

I was marking for Sammoa Joe big time last year but I don't like the direction his characters taken. His promos are the generic, anger and intense that go on too long, just like Cena's last night.
