What system has ever really had that? PS3 had one of the better launch line ups ever, along with Wii(Zelda) and Dreamcast(Soul Calibur), but after that their launches weren't so great. PS3 had a launch line up of average games(sans Resistance which is really good), in many genres. SO overall it had one of the better launches gamewise.

You should be able to play most PS1 games on any PS3. Says so in my manual anyway. every PS3 system you can play the PS1 games it's just certain systems that let you play PS2 games

Upon future research they did have a large selection of games out, although I have to contest Zelda TP as being a launch title. I mean, it was an old Game Cube game that took too long to be released.

Yeah but it was released the day of the system, and had a high attach rate. It was a Launch title, no matter the development issues that go along with it.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy a PS3 and a separate copy of MGS4? Oh man, I didn't know they lowered the price on that System + MGS4 set... And to the Janitor, no it technically wouldn't be cheaper. The PS3 in the special edition set is the 80GB vs. the 40GB for $399... The 60GB (Original configurations were 20 and 60GB) originally cost $599 at launch. Actually, the soon-to-be released 80GB (Not a MGS4 pack) will cost $499. Pretty much all the hardware configurations are ridiculous. According to Wikipedia, there have been 4 separate versions released in the U.S. (20GB - discontinued, 40GB - soon to be discontinued, 60GB - discontinued, 80GB - discontinued). Technically there are actually 2 separate 80GB ones released, with the newer, slimmer (In internal hardware only) version that lacks backwards compatibility actually taking over all of them and being the ONLY hardware configuration offered. Detailed PS3 Hardware Configuration (via Wikipedia)Looks like my plans for buying a PS3 just went out the window. Sheesh, why does Sony have to complicate everything?

360 had the best launch window of this generation. Just for the fact that it had games in nearly EVERY genre at launch alone, with the launch window titles filling the gap.
But, Resistance has to be the best launch title made specifically for the system it was made for this generation. Twilight Princess was the best overall launch title this gen, but of course, it wasn't made for Wii.

I've actually used a 360 and while I think it's ok, the overheating issue concerns me.
Plus, I don't like the 360 controller. Sony's controllers have always been more intuitive for me.

One of the main reasons why I'm going to sell my 360(the one I just got) for a PS3. Come on, I've had all other Sony systems(My PS1 broke after getting a PS2, leaving me with PS2 and PSP). I'm not a Sony fanboy in anyway, but I am a Sony follower.

My PS1 survived a small fire.
My PS2 broke but after I sent it in for repair, it was fine.
They are pretty durable systems and of course, I love the MGS series.

I was mad at my PS3 earlier last week, but for another reason. I had received my Batman: TAS Boxset from Amazon and wanted to watch one of my favorite episodes from the first season, Beware of the Gray Ghost.
Well, I started playing it and a quarter of the way through the episode, it quit and went back to the menu. Well, I started to have a minor apoplexy but then I ejected the disc to look at the bottom of it. It seems that it was shipped from Amazon.com with some stuff on the bottom of it. I painstakingly removed the substance from the bottom of my disc and it worked perfectly fine then.
I hadn't felt that angry at a gaming system since the day I hooked up my XBox 360 one day to play Halo 3 and got a red ring of death. I was so, so pissed until I checked through all the connections and found out that one of the cables was loose. Luckily that was an easy fix, as was this one.
