I'd also have to agree with the current tag match format. How cool would it be if the face in peril is still getting beat down, but instead of the hot tag, the ref either stops the match, or the heels just go on and pin the face in peril to end the match with no chance of a hot tag at all.

Authority figure wants to punish a wrestler and orders a fight one on one with....THE UNDATAKAH, Kane, or Khali. (it depends if the punished wrestler is a face or a heel)
Contract signing always end with a broken table and an inconscious wrestler on top of it.
Dramatic action = silenced announcers.
Stupid bump backstage to start a new feud (often involving Kane)

Misawa & Kobashi vs. Kawada & Taue, Real World Tag League 1993 final. Only time I've ever seen it done, and I am always baffled as to why those teams' tag matches don't get ripped off like crazy. They play with the tag formula in so many interesting ways.
