Nah, we have white trash and meth labs too. My town is one of the biggest meth towns in KS, from what I understand. I thought my area had the most meth labs.

Well, If you're not hurting anyone, and nothing is going on in that bar or as a result of any meetings in that bar that could result in someone getting hurt, then basically, you're the victim of descrimination here. I believe that's illegal, even in a privately owned bar, If It's still a public place, I'm not sure though. Generally speaking you can refuse service to anyone, for any reason. First off, the bar is private property and the owner can use it as he sees fit. Secondly, the sale of anything is actually a contract between two people. It's why, legally speaking, anyone under the age of 18 can't buy anything. The law says a person under 18 can not enter into any legal contract without parental conscent, because the law says people under 18 can not understand the implications of the contract. So they can't buy anything. The owner was smart, he didn't say, "I won't serve you because you like guys". That probably is discrimination. He just refused service, which is perfectly legal. I think it depends more on the specific state laws.

I would imagine the laws are not so dissimilar, but as far as I can tell, the owner is perfectly in the right here. It may not be nice or whatever, but he's still within his rights.

Most different US state laws are way different than Canada.

I'm telling you man, you've gotta move someplace with more places to go. I grew up in rural Michigan, in a town that was kinda like yours. No place else I've lived has been like that. I'm in Chicago now, and just to give that one example, a situation like the one you described would never happen here.

Yeah, I really really wanna get the hell out of this town. I hate it as is...I just don't really have the money or means to get up and out at the moment. I'm working on that though.

I'm pretty sure you're right, Game. He was perfectly within his right to kick me out. We're having a flap here in town right now because some bars are refusing to serve British people. We have an extremely large Military Base nearby, with tons of British soliders. They hit town for a night out. You gotta understand, they need a release because of their stress and all. So, generally speaking, they tend to get really, really f***ing drunk and cause a lot of fights (a lot of the time, just them being British instigates it with people, not the Brits fault, just ignorant rednecks). Some bars and pubs apparently have taken to posting signs that say they will refuse service to all British soliders. It's not a popular decision, but....it really does save a lot of headaches for all involved. I don't see anything inhertiantly wrong with it, other than...you shouldn't say it. I guess the sign on the door is meant to save the bother of having to kick them out once they get inside.

Since Dude is just guessing as to why he was refused service, you can't really bring discrimination law into the picture. Which will vary wildy, from state to state and country to country.
