One of my most prized possessions is a copy of the 1990 PPV version of this, which is a whopping 90 minutes longer than the VHS. It's hosted by April and a very cheesy "Channel 6 reporter," who does interviews with audience members. There is a great claymation/live action cartoon during the intermission about 'mother earth.' Before the show starts, April shills for Pizza Hut, and gets half the audience to yell "cheese lovers (IIRC)," and the other half "pepperoni lovers."
It was shown completely live. Hence, the best part of it is when the interviewer asks the kid what he thought of Shredder, only for the kid to say, "he looked better in the movie."
Also, this wasn't a Broadway show, it toured just like a real band. One of my biggest regrets is not begging my parents to take me to see it a couple of hours away. It would have really been something to see.

What the shell? I haven't seen that whole thing since I was like 6 or 7 years old.

I remember this being the first Ninja Turtles thing that I was like "Uhhhh...nah, that looks stupid."
And I was right.

I remember I had the Coming Out Of Their Shells tape from Pizza Hut.
April you know we're with you...and that you'll be okay.

Man, I feel lame for having been a NKOTB mark back then, and ordering them on PPV, but now, I don't feel so bad.

I had the green tape too. For a summer, I used to watch it every day. I remember Shredder taking over and taunting the young fans. They kept getting smaller from movie to movie and when i saw this again, I thought the rigors of super stardom had caused four eating disorders.
