Now I think we can all agree that Joker obviously did not die in this movie and they are not quite done with the character yet.
With that said who do you think would be the best replacement for the character in the next movie or in the one after..............I'm thinking they will wait considering by the next one people will still be a bit too attached to Heath Ledger playing Joker.

I'd be ok with Crispin Glover taking over. Maybe because he looked a helluva lot like the Animated Joker in those Charlie's Angels movies.

Well, I just saw it for the third (and possibly last) time Friday. I say "possibly last" not because I'm sick of it or anything, quite the opposite actually. I just feel this is the type of movie I'mma wanna watch over and over again (ala BATMAN BEGINS, though I will admit, it's since gotten kinda boring in the first hour), and for that to happen, I think I'mma have to buy it on DVD or something. That being said, I noticed something else Friday. In the "group therapy" scene, Joker says to Gamble (sp?) "And this suit's not cheap, by the way, you oughta know, you bought it" Now, was that Joker being Bat crap Crazy Joker, or is there an actual connection between the two? Joker robbed the banks that were owned by the mob.

sorry if this has been posted before, taking from another forum
Jack Nicholson on Heath's performance (I dont have a link to the source, sorry; it was some newspaper):
Jack Nicholson, who played The Joker in 1989’s Batman, declared: “Heath has taken him to a new level. I couldn’t tear my eyes away.”

Daniel Day-Lewis could play new Joker. Though I doubt they recast.

Finally got to see it last night and thank god it lived up to the hype. I was worried at the start it started really slowly but once it got going, it was amazing.
Was Heath Ledger deserving of the hype? Yes and no. At the start it seemed the only good things about the movie were the bits with The Joker in it, and yes he was as scary as i thought he would be. But by the end Aaron Eckhardt completely stole the show, and I was ready for a whole new movie with Two Face as the star.
I hope that does happen. As for The Joker I don't think they should bring him back, draw the line under it. You won't better that performance.
For the next film, Two Face and Scarecrow (yes again) would be my ideal villians. Its hard to see The Riddler or The Penguin fitting in.

That seems doable in Nolan's Bat-verse.

All they have to do with Penguin is have him as a gun runner for the bad guys and it works.

I've got to say....if done right, Poison Ivy COULD be an option. I mean, Scarecrow used a terrorist "fear gas" strategy, right? What if, instead of being able to control plants, Nolan made Ivy a little more "real world" friendly, and had her be a huge fan of napalm?
Since poison ivy, in real life, itches and, yes, BURNS. Just like napalm.
Which is an exfoliant.
Also, you COULD bring in Harley Quinn, and have it work as well. Just have her be the Joker's therapist at Arkham....who the Joker disfigures and drives insane.
Call me crazy, but I could see the two ladies working well together, in Nolan's universe. He's already pulled off some of the more cartoonish Bat-villains. I mean, Joker and Scarecrow weren't exactly level-headed, real world villains in the comics. They were bright, outlandish, and colorful as hell, and Nolan made them work in a real world setting. Ivy and Harley could be done the same way.

can someone pm me a link to the "gutteral sounds" Batman conversation with Joker? Deadpool was telling me about it tonight at BW3's and I don't feel like looking through 70 pages to find it. Thanks so much.

WB logo, Legenday Pictures logo, DC comics logo, Batman Logo (all of which took maybe 30 seconds to a minute)... Bank Robbery action scene followed by Batman kicking ass scene. No opening credits, just right to it.

No opening credits, just right to it. The way it should be...either show them at the beginning or end...no reason to see the credits twice. I prefer waiting to see them at the end

Harley should never be in a serious Batman movie.
Theres so many villians that deserve the call-up before her.

No opening credits, just right to it. I agree, the beginning was great, I actually thought that the first half was better than the second in that it became more complicated and unsettling as the film went on, plus I don't think that two-face should have been rushed through at the end of the movie. To me, this movie should have been about the Joker and Harvey Dent, with Dent becoming Two-face at the end of the movie only after the Joker's story had ended. It just seemed a bit too much, especially since we didn't see exactly what happened to the Joker. We can easily assume he's in Arkham or prison, but a short scene to clarify it would have been great to add closure before adding another villain IMO. After this, it could be revealed that Harvey has escaped/gone missing and killed 5 people or whatever, setting up the next movie in a similair way to the ending of Batman Begins.
