I recently started up my own promotion and was told that the company that helped fund me had issued a press release, well ive been quoted on these articles and i never opened my mouth to anyone with regard to the article! Its all true and is harmless but still... Crazy! Just got me thinking how often it happens and the potential damage a 'misquote' in the media could do to a organisation? How do you feel about media affecting wrestling promotions/wrestlers or the business in general? Check out www.scottishprowrestling.com for more details on the article if you cant read it, not sure if the image scaler will make it too small to read etc? EDIT: Just like to add i was 2hrs out of hospital and had 3 days no sleep for this photo!!

The media kills people with kindness. Plain and simple. I see it as an epidemic.
Anyway, this should be a fun thread after what the media has said over the last year reguarding wrestling.
I'll start with the most obvious.
Nancy Grace to Bret Hart:
Grace: "Chris Benoit was demoted from the elite Four Horsemen down to.......
Raw.......
"That IS a demotion......how do you respond?"

Eh, I seem to get no-sold an awful lot. Not complaining though, It could be partially my own fault at times.

meh, so do I.
Might I ask though, what process do you go through to begin your own promotion? I have always been interested in that, since I want to try in the future...

Unless your a solid businessman and can convince panels to give you a ton of cash and back you, youll have to have a minimum of around £2.5k to run a half decent show. Once you have the cash just book a venue, get in touch with somone in the business (if u dont already know someone this is the hard part) that can get contacts and help you book talent. Then its a matter of building and hyping the event, not easy really and so much work. Its a risky business aswell, you find most promoters only take home pocket money and dont have the business brain. Ill be happy to help out though mate if you need it.
