OK so I let my family use my laptop whenever they want if I'm not on so they can do whatever it is that they need to do. Well, everything has been fine until I get home last night and then my sister says there is something wrong with the screen.
Well, I go to see the problem and then I notice there is a big ass crack on the screen and there are 3 black spots on the screen where there are dead pixels.
So then I proceed to flip the f*** out and ask her what the hell did she do to the screen.....she then proceeds to give me the worst answer in the world..."it was like that when I got it".....there was no way in hell it was like that when she got it because the person on it before her was me.....
And the worst part is that I didn't buy accident insurance for the damn thing when I got it because at first I was the only person who I would let use it and I knew I had common sense not to worry about anything because I knew how to take care of a computer....
And now because of my decision to let my family use my laptop, it is now going to cost me 400 dollars to put a new screen in the laptop....and I know I'm going to be the one that foots the bill since my sister is only 14 and has no job.....
f*** f*** f***.....this happened last night and I'm still pissed off.....

In the words of Stone Cold, DTA, don't trust anybody. I hardly ever let people use my stuff cause I'm worried something like that will happen. Sorry dude.

This happened to me a while back (getting a crack in my laptop screen from the inside). If at all possible, it's so much cheaper to order a new screen and put it in yourself. I know less than nothing about computers, but Dell has some good guides online to replacing a screen that basically walked me through it and helped me save ~$300 dollars. The screen itself was $250 plus shipping, but Staples wanted $600 to do it.

Sorry to hear about that Ray. I very, very hesitant to let anyone I know borrow things just for reasons like this. There are only a chosen few who get to borrow my stuff and even when they ask me I think about it for a minute or two.

I'm in the same boat, man. can't trust anyone with anything, I had some friends when I was little who were terrible about borrowing stuff to the point where I turn into a total loan shark whenever I lend someone something.
