I never saw this when it was out in cinemas and I picked it up on DVD today. And I was completely blown away by it. Totally over the top and ridiculous but really good fun and actually quite intelligent in places. James McAvoy is consistently great in all his films and I never thought I'd buy him being an action star but he is so good in this film. After Atonement getting a Best Picture nomination this year hopefully the world is catching up to his greatness. And I loved McAvoy breaking the fourth wall in the final scene of the film. Anyone else enjoy this film?

The film was ok, I wanted it to be much more like the book, which I understand why they didn't do so, but that colored a lot of my view of the flick- " It coulda been a lot better" that kinda thing.
It was a decent movie though.

I thought it was ok, and was kinda offended that The Fox got the whitewash treatment from Hollywood. Just kinda, though. Still...... "Shoot This Motherf***a!" ....was funny as hell to me.

Oh man, I originally saw this through "dubious" means and I enjoyed the movie. I thought it was fun, visually stimulating, and with enough back story to get you hooked (I wish there was a sequel). Recently I took my friend to the cheap theater to see this and, when that line came out all stiff and Morgan Freeman-like, the entire audience just howled with laughter. I love Morgan Freeman. But yeah, I did enjoy the movie a lot more than I thought I would. I am really hoping for a sequel that delves into the assassins more.

It was pretty good I thought, of course it can't compete with the big summer blockbusters of the year but its still very good and worth seeing.
Especially for McAvoy going SCSA on his boss.

Seemed to me they read the first few pages of the comic and said "We gotta movie!" and came up with the rest.

It was a decent flick, and they got some of the character names/scenes from the book right, but other than that, it didn't have a heckuva lot to do with the comic.

I saw the movie in theaters and thought it was a good movie and the line that morgan freeman said was hilarious as he has only a hndful of lines.

I loved this movie, at least a helluva lot more than the last few I just watched in the theaters. It was a very weird mix of Fight Club and Matrix, but at the same time, made its own identity. However, I will say it tried a little too hard with a plot twist revolving around the threads and the "father", but except for that, thumbs up all around.

The movie was only good BECAUSE it wasn't like the book. Basically what I thought. I have never read the book but I have heard and read a lot about it and it just seems way too comic bookish. The whole thing of them being compared to superheros and stuff I think would have killed the movie. I think the movie made it look very realistic with an idea that I'm sure most thought could'nt look realistic. I also like the themes in it. Some of it very much reminded me of Fight Club. Only thing I didn't like about it is that in the middle it is incredibly slow.

no that's not the the reason.

The movie was ok, but it was not at all like the book. The book was pretty much Watchmen, but for villains and not as awesome as Watchmen.

Eh, the book was no great shakes, but I enjoyed it for what it was- I guess what jarred me was the movie was almost NOTHING like the book, which I understand, and the whys have been detailed already. Interesting flick that was ok made from and ok book, though they didn't have much to do with one another.
