I was just thinking the Rey mask was a decoy, Kane screwing with people.

This was MY thought as well after giving it some time to gestate in my brain. Same here. What I wanted was the lights to drop, then red lights fill the arena, Kane standing there with the bag at his feet, red mask on his face. He then proceeds to beat the hell out of the whole security guard force and then sets fire to Mike Adamle. I may be in the minority, but I don't want to see Kane put the mask back on. The guy has the best facial expressions in the WWE. Have him go back to the monster he was in 2003 after losing the mask. I was hoping that it would be Hurricane's mask.

Great swerve.
And I'd venture to say if Kane did pull his mask out of the bag, that we'd get complaints about how WWE was so predictable.

As long as it culminates with Kane getting his old music back, I will say it was a successful storyline.

Maybe this is swerve of a swerve. Maybe Kane just fooled Adamle and the "rest" of us. God I hope.

Jeez, this whole angle. Did Russo sneak back onto the RAW writing team while no one was looking?

Glen Jacobs may be one of the most amazing performers ever. It doesn't matter what he does, and how gookeresque it should be on paper he sells it so perfectly it sucks you in like a pigeon through a jet engine.

Jeez, this whole angle. Did Russo sneak back onto the RAW writing team while no one was looking? Nah, it's not Russo's work. If it was, Adamle would have revealed that he is Kane's father.

I was just thinking the Rey mask was a decoy, Kane screwing with people. Not to mention that PWInsider had a story a while back about Rey's contract coming up soon. Not sure if it was renewed or not, there were money issues. If they wanted to write Rey off of TV, having Kane say he pretty much ... well .... ended him is one way to do it. Kane DID say he was "scarred, tortured, and damaged beyond human repair." I still think masked Kane comes at the end of this. Last night was an awesome swerve.

If Kane first asked "is he alive or dead?" the night Mysterio wrestled Santino, they could say Kane did something to Rey after his match. Easy to explain assuming Rey wasn't on TV since then.

I have to give it to the E. Something tangible to an angle they've nearly forgot about. They waited too long with the bag and didn't really showcase it for a while. In the time it took them to come back to the angle we all had it figured out...and it would have demeaned the story. The impact of it would have sucked, kinda like Y2J's return. We all saw it coming.
But this? This works, and refreshes the story that now there is the next chapter to look forward to, when we were all just expecting the story to end.
