Now unless I'm mistaken this is the series that was released on VHS years ago, and I know since this release there have been plenty of edits(Music, Brother Love on Piper's Pit, etc.) on later editions. But can anyone give me the scoop on these edits? Thanks!

Yeah, I've always wanted to know why they cut out when Brother Love get kicked out of Piper's Pit. Does Bruce Pritchard not want us to see something?

I have this collection on VHS and never noticed any edits. I think they even include the intermission during III.

Now you talking, there are no edits. I highly recomend this set if you want to have Wrestlemania collection.
The only edits they have are the intermission timer. And they might be some edit on Wrestlemania 2. After the Steamboat / Hercules match for some reason, Jessie says we're back, even though they never left the air. My guess is they were some on air production problems. Wrestlemania VII is edited at some point, because they mention they were beiefly off the air, even though I didn't notice anything.
Besides the intermission timers after the merchandise commercials, and any on air electical problem, it is essentional the original PPV or closed broadcast.
Except for Wrestlemania XI, that is the encore PPV edition. Plus Wrestlemania XII and XIII doesn't have the Free For All.

I own this set and loved every minute of it. EXACTLY how every WrestleMania should be presented. No dubs, no edits, none of that junk. HIGHLY recommended over both sets that came after it (those being the 1-15 VHS set, and the sorry excuse for a DVD set).

I don't know what Vince was thinking in the Fall of 97/Spring of 98 to spring for all the original entrance songs, but I'm happy he did it.

What's the difference between the aforementioned set and the set that was released in 1999 (WM1-WM14)?

The Piper's Pit is still there, it is just edited down. The part when Piper chases Brother Love away is edited from what I hear. On the 1985 - 97 collection it is complete without edits.

The only thing I hated was that the VHS tapes were in EP mode instead of SP.

The only thing I hated was that the VHS tapes were in EP mode instead of SP. That's much the issue with the box set released in 1999. That, and the Attitude watermark is plastered onto each and every show. The 1997 box set has neither of these issues.

WM2 has extra footage not on the original Coliseum video am I right? I know it was cut down a LOT when I first saw it, are there any other tapes that have extra footage not on the original release?

Like the other shows on the 1997 set, WM2 is completely unedited aside from intermission and technical issues. Considering how much the Coliseum releases were edited, especially in the early days when they only had 2 hour VHS tapes to work with, you get a shitload of "extra" footage, if you'd like to call it that.

That's correct. On the Coliseum Video version entrances for just about every match were cut out. The part with Ray Charles was cut out and several interviews as well.
