I can't stand Punk. Put the title on Batista, already, so he can lose it at every ppv and ask for rematches every following sunday. fixed.

I think Punk can be booked to be the top face of the brand with Cena out. Right now it's Batista, but McMahon apparently really likes the guy and he isn't jobbing left and right like Mysterio did as Champion. Punk just isn't the type of guy they can give a Superman push, though. They learned that lesson with Cena and the last thing they need is another face that gets a constant mixed reaction.
This also further destroys any chances of him going heel anytime soon, but that also virtually guarantees a Punk/Orton program when Randy finally gets back. Something I'd love to see.

Yeah I'd keep the title on Punk. They need to be careful on how they book the scramble though. If the title changes hands numerous times only for Punk to end up w/ it at the end it will look like a fluke win. But if he never loses it or loses it only once or twice his push will seem forced and may put off fans. Its a tough call.

If Punk drops the belt, turn him heel and make him feud with Jeff Hardy in a way thats similar to how he feud with Raven in the indies

Has Punk developed his character at all beyond "I'm a good guy who likes the fans who also happens to be straight-edge"? If WWE ever allowed him to have a personality, I might care a little more.

With the way the Scramble works, ANY win by any of the guys would be a fluke win unless Punk retains it throughout the entire match. And that applies to Triple H as well.

I like CM Punk as champion and he is definitely getting over more each week, he has charisma people naturally like him. Which is why they don't need to go superman with the guy like Cena, infact Punk is the complete opposite, he is the underdog champion. Most of his opponents are bigger and more experienced than him, it kind of reminds me of Bret Hart's first title reign, he isn't the biggest name on the show, but most people like seeing him as the champ. I also would like see an Orton/Punk fued and eventually wouldn't get too upset to see Punk eventually lose the title to Orton after a couple of matches.

Punk needs a good program with someone like HHH to really elevate him. Maybe Orton could do it when he returns. A Punk/Orton feud would be awesome IMO. This was the first thing that came to mind for me. Punk vs Orton could be the next Rock vs Stone Cold.

+1 on Character developing Punk and also let him be in the main event on Raw. We know he does not hurt ratings when hes on.

So your suggesting that the world champion shouldnt be the curtain jerker on Raw? Thats blasphemy to WWE Creative Even Cena and other top guys have done a match at the top of the show. It's not like he faced Chuck Palumbo

I feel like im in the minority for the Batista love because of the internetz. Im entertained by the guy and thats all I really ask for, sure Punk having the belt is cool, but I feel like the whole "underdog champion" thing only holds its luster for so long, let Punk drop the title to Batista, and then allow him to prove himself by taking it back/fighting against a returning Orton.

i may be one of the biggest RKO marks on this board (hell, i marked for him back when it seemed as though his finisher was a dropkick) but im still not seeing the money in and orton/punk feud. im all for it, but i just dont see how punk/orton puts asses in seats.
the bigger problem on raw right now isnt necessarily who's the #1 face, its who can even run with the ball as a face.

Don't forget it was Batista that allowed PM Cunk to win the WHC. If for nothing else, Batista should win the belt.

Meh neither should have the belt. Its about time a top heel has another long title run. Chris Jericho is the top heel on raw. A long title run for him sounds more interesting at the moment.

I just spit out my drink after reading that That fued would be lucky if it even main events a single ppv which at the rate punk is going will never happen...and I wouldn't even want to think about the robotic boring promos that Orton will cut during that fued.....ugh

I'd rather Punk/Jericho, as Orton doesn't do much for me, but that's just my opinion.
My first thought re. Cena's injury though was that with him out, if he's gone until Mania, they can have the Cena/Batista rematch as the money maker and it'll be more anticipated than it would have been.
