I received an interesting email at work a few days ago, and can finally post again. Phone lines had been down at home thanks to Hurricane Gustav and have just been restored. Anyways its from our company's computer specialists about restoring of computers.
Dell: with Windows XP: Power on computer and press Crtl & F11 right as the blue bar appears at top of screen.
with Windows Vista: Power on computer and press F8 right as the the dell blue screen appears and then hit enter on repair computer. then clck on dell factory image restore
HP/Compaq: with Windows XP: power on computer and press F10 at the HP screen, then select the restore to factory settings option
with Windows Vista: power on computer and press F11 at the HP screen, and after the system scan, select the system restore option.
(note: if the above doesn't wotk, it is because the restore partition on that computer has been erased or corrupted. you will to contact the manufacturer to obtain restore disks.

if I may offer my help on computer problems as well:
When your browser freezes up, DO NOT throw a brick through the screen.
