So, I'm have some trouble in raising cash. I figure that I have too much stuff, and want to unload some of it. I figure I should get a lot of the stuff and just sell them on eBay. Anyone have any experience in it, and have any tips I should know before I go putting up things for sale?

Be sure to have a PayPal account with some money in it already. I did this in case the items I put up didn't sell and I would have to pay the eBay fees.
eBay charges fees based on how you list your item, the starting auction price, and how much it went for (if it sold). They usually don't amount to very much unless your item sells for a huge amount.
Know if your package is going to fit in either a flat rate box or envelope. Despite using the shipping calc, eBay doesn't give the appropriate size and sometimes I wind up paying more for shipping because of it.
Make sure the item your selling is yours and not some friends or family members. I recently lost money because my brother decided to be a !#@$ at the last minute.
Most of the bidding happens when the item has about a day or so left on the auction, so don't panic if for the first couple of days there are no bids.
Be prepared to answer questions people have. Most of the time I put something up somebody asks me something about the product.
As for what to do after an item has sold, if you use PayPal they'll print the shipping label for you. I suggest using label paper rather then regular paper when doing this.
Hope these tips were helpful.

What should one typically charge for shipping a DVD?

Keep the buyer informed. Nothing is more annoying then not getting any communication from seller after you have payed.
Also you might want to work out the cost of shipping overseas before listing an item. Most people won't ask if it's not listed. They will just look elsewhere.

Make sure that your items don't end on a Friday, Saturday, or most of Sunday, for the obvious reasons that a lot of people are actually doing stuff on the weekend. Thursdays tend to have the highest ending prices.

Ok. Thanks. One more thing. Does it work it to go to those eBay places where they can sell your stuff and give you a check or should I just do it myself?

eBay places that sell your stuff? I don't think I've ever heard of this.
I'd say it's best to do everything yourself so you know you're not getting screwed.

What should one typically charge for shipping a DVD? Standard shipping and handling should be $3 for in the US. That's what amazon does and why I don't really buy anything from ebay. Getting the media mail and sending it out is only like $2-ish. $5 shipping and "handling" is ridiculous. Also make sure to title it well and leave everything they'd want to know in the info. Year it was released, brief synopsis, comparisons, actors/etc., and good pics. Basically, you want people to have everything they'd want to know about the product right there. You wanna rope in some casual buyers and basically not give them a excuse to look up stuff on it as they might close out of your page or whatever.

That was ridiculous. The blonde chick reminded me of my old roommate who scammed me out of money...

What I love about that video is that it's Judge Judy ripping on that chick for like 7 minutes of a 9 minute video.
