They totally f***ed him in the ass. He had zero build up for his title match. His only defenses were against losers like JBL and Snitsky. He jobbed to Jericho in a non-title match. He was rarely featured in the main event during his title reign. He was booked weak and didn't even get to participate in the match where he lost the title. RIGHT GUY, wrong creative.

Not the biggest Punk fan, and even I thought he got a crap run. He was booked as pretty much a weakling, and only won matches because of amazing devine intervention if you listened to the commentators.

If he had lost it legit, I'd say right guy, decent run. But not even letting him into the ring tonight means his reign was fail through and through. He couldn't even beat Jericho in his own hometown.
It almost feels like it was a test run, but I doubt they'll put the belt on him again.

I think it was okay. He never actually lost the belt, and has ready made opportunities for upcoming feuds. Even if he doesn't manage to pick the belt back up again, it appears that he'll be in high profile feuds with Orton, maybe Jericho, maybe whoever any other champs might be.
Is he in a better position now than he was before winning the title? Yep, so I'd say the experiment was a success.

Awful run. No good matches, no killer drama, no epic rivalries, just the same old crap cranked out.
What a disappointment.

Eh he was barely winning matches as a fresh champ, now I see him jobbing to the higher ups, they've pretty much booked him as a guy who tries hard but isn't a good wrestler.

At least he wasn't Mysterio'd. Verbally he was. He always seemed to barely win and never got any convincing wins. Granted he wasn't jobbed out, but he wasn't exactly pushed. I don't think the reign was very good. They could have easily tonight had Rey be taken out instead of Punk and ran the same ending and it would have been huge. Instead Punk looks like a loser.

As much as I dislike the way he "lost" the title, I'd have to say decent. He wasn't "berried" as Mysterio was and although he could have been booked stronger, he still managed to come across as a credible champ.
I'm sure there's another title reign in his future.

His run could have been a little stronger. But I'm amazed that he kept the belt that long.
And at least his reign was better than Rey's.

Hopefully, he beats Orton and Jericho beats HBK so these two can have a nice feud together, with Punk regaining the strap.

They've only scratched the surface of what he can do, so I can't give it more than a "decent reign."
However, I WILL go on record saying it was a great unexpected run, that went from being a transitional shock value run to a legitimate title run. Yes, it was pretty short when you look at it now, but it was a hell of a lot longer than most of us assumed it would be when he won.
I have absolutely no complaints about it, I do think he deserves another one in the future. But for right now, for his position in the company.... I cannot complain one bit.
